Two of my friends asked me about the Turkey article published in The Hill 8 November 2016 by General Flynn, and the subsequent charges of corruption on behalf of Turkey that arose and still circle. I'll do my best to address this vicious rumor.
2) By the way, if I'm missing others on topic, I apologize. The two friends I have in mind are: @DorasPaintDrips and @GGWorld. To dive in, my recollection is that General Flynn, in honor and respect of his position, accepted full responsibility for all decisions.
3) The story in The Hill, praising Erdogan and urging tight ties with Turkey was published with his byline and under his authority. The story itself deserves a small amount of attention. First, it was a 100% legal act, and every American has the 1A right to speak his mind.
4) Second, regardless of how one stands about Erdogan and Turkey, it has to be remembered the he was the lawful head of state, and that Turkey was a member of NATO, and therefore a formal ally of the US. As an ally, they fall under General Flynn's purview rightfully.
5) I read the article the day it was published, and don't mind admitted I was both stunned and quite concerned by it. Also, I did NOT agree with its recommendations. However, my agreement or disagreement on a matter I'd not researched was of little meaning to me at the time.
6) So, in addressing this matter, we have to begin by taking the hard line that Flynn stood behind the article in its entirety, to include strengthening our relationship to Erdogan. Now, this man is believed by so many to be an evil man, this case puts Flynn under that spotlight.
7) My answer back then, as now, is that we are often allies with evil actors and, be they ally or enemy, evil actors have to be faced and negotiated with. The subsequent examples I offer from President Trump are his negotiations with President Xi and dictator Kim Jong-un.
8) A real time example from 2016 was our war against ISIS. Turkey's airspace was vital to our efforts against the Caliphate. No matter how those negotiations turned out, they had to be engaged. Thus, I was able to place the question on hold giving Flynn the benefit of the doubt.
9) There was another component. He led up the story. His name was Fethullah Gulen. He is a muslim cleric given both protection and vast wealth here in the US by his protections under our government. Flynn's case is that he is a terrorist sheltering here.
10) If Flynn needed to argue for our ally and its head of state, in its disagreement with America sheltering Gulen, it's almost impossible for me to oppose that position. The word grey area should offer much latitude here. But what about the timing of the story?
11) In a word, it was TERRIBLE. On the very day of the election? It shouted incompetence on its face, and stirred questions of motivation. If Flynn were in the wrongful employ of Turkey, the timing of the article would certainly argue greatly against his integrity.
12) Even if you don't go to integrity, you at least have to go to intelligence. The publication of that article, that day, cannot be justified as an act of intelligent decision making and, when we get to the bottom of it, we will see that bad decisions were indeed made.
13) What we learned subsequently, through court filings, was that Flynn had nothing to do with the article directly. While published under his name, he did not write it, and was unware of being published until he read it just like the rest of us did. How could that happen?
14) There are two bad decisions Flynn made. One was to become partners with a man called Bijan Kian. The second was worse. He empowered Kian to essentially run Flynn Intel while Flynn worked night and day for the Trump Campaign. Kian was a man Flynn should never have trusted.
15) Kian committed no crimes and was exonerated by court. But, as Flynn had empowered him, it was Kian who both wrote and published the article. One of the function of Flynn Intel was media representation. It was not unnatural for Kian to have that power.
16) I admit, I've looked up a few thing. Here's a fact I did not know. "Kian was a member of the Board of Directors of the Export–Import Bank of the United States from 2006 to 2011, after being nominated by President George W. Bush and receiving Senate confirmation."
17) So, while time revealed Flynn's trust to be wrongful, it was neither illegal nor off the cuff. Kian had been vetted at the highest levels. Now, what about the "corrupt" relationship to Turkey? Again, court filings revealed that it was in no way corrupt and was 100% legal.
18) Getting back to the published story, what actually occurred was Kian used his power to get the story published in order to strengthen his position with those he negotiated with over the business of the Flynn Intel Group. He was tactically motivated, but again, not criminally.
19) Tactics? There was a $500,000 deal with a Turkish expat living in Denmark named Kamil Ekim Alptkin. Such work is done every day of the world by firms just like Flynn Intel Group. It was to research Gulen, and out him for the criminal Flynn believed him to be.
20) Why would Flynn authorize such a relationship? The answer is clear. He believed Gulen to be a terrorist under American shelter, and he believed it would be the right thing for America to extradite him. These are honorable beliefs, over which Flynn had every right.
21) It was subsequently discovered that Alptekin was funded by Turkey, and this was spun into Flynn being an unregistered foreign agent. It sounds so bad, it sounds like treason, and Flynn's enemies in high places have gone there. He has been so accused.
22) Nothing could be more false. He was completely unware of Alptekin's source of funding. And even if he had been it was in no way illegal. The "crime" was the reporting, and this "crime" is committed everyday and no one cares. It was simply used against Flynn, falsely.
23) I don't know that I've done a good job explaining, and I haven't discussed the FARA filing, Flynn's attorneys and their now-established corruption, the Mueller Inquisition, or Flynn's guilty plea. I haven't discussed the corrupt Judge Sullivan, or Contreras either.
24) What I will say is simply that I monitored every development as it occurred with a clear eye and the self-attack that I suffered confirmation bias on behalf of my friend. That claimed, I was never able to find a single bit of evidence of Flynn's corruption. Not one.
25) I'm just an unaffiliated citizen with solely public sources to scan. But I am thorough. And I stand behind my friend's honor and integrity with my own honor and sacred reputation at stake. I have stated so publicly from then till now, unwavering.
26) I have not always had the time or resources to fight every battle for General Flynn's honor with the full vigor I wish I could have. But I did make the research attack, assuming him guilty and researching for any hint of evidence to confirm that theory.
27) Having completely proven my friend's honor, I wish I had been able to put my case for his integrity forward more forcefully, more effectively, and with much greater reach than I enjoyed. He very literally deserved much more than I was able to do for him.
28) Now let's close out by returning to Erdogan, himself. Legality is not our only standard. How could Flynn in any way support this apparently evil man? A moment on that word "apparently." I have not made it my research case to take a position on Erdogan, myself.
29) If you tell me he's evil, I won't argue against you. If you ask me to say so in my own voice, I will decline. He is outside my scope of knowledge. And more, he is the head of an ally state, with whom we're often enemies in fact but not in name. That matters.
30) I've shared that the recent film Oslo expresses the need to keep an open mind about one's enemies. Was Arafat an evil man? Many would shout it to the universe. Should Begin & Peres have negotiated with him? I say yes. What do you say?
31) So in sum, here's where I stand. Kian was a terrible but justifiable hire. His job was an honorable job and Flynn Intel Group did nothing either illegal or even wrong, morally, to the best of my ability to ascertain. Flynn's honor is 100% in tact.
32) Further, I believe that Flynn's truly evil enemies have stopped at nothing in their constant attack against him for two main reasons. The first is his knowledge, the second is his spine. Thus, the appearance of foolishness and corruption is what they MUST concoct.
33) My conclusion is that Kian was always Flynn's enemy. his use of power to publish that story on that date marks him so. And it speaks to his handlers and their benefit. That story's publication date must be tied to the ouster of Flynn from Trump's administration.
34) We now know that Flynn was targeted by illegal surveillance as early as July of 2016, maybe earlier. His identity was illegally outed and published. The attack of the Logan Act against him was more than mere farce, it was actually illegal on its face.
35) The bottom line is that an honest man, incorruptible, and with America's faith and honor the only thing he cares for, you can't destroy him with truth. Your only remaining weapon is lies. The truth is that evil men stop at nothing in attacking a righteous one.
Thread ends at #35. My next task is to view the Flynn's recent press conference. I intended to publish my analysis of it this morning, but this work on the slurs and slings of lies had to be documented. I'll say no more on this topic.

Since Friday, I've posted 3 threads resulting from a profound conversation with General Flynn on Thursday. Today's will be the 4th. Here's the link to the first. It's important.
3) As a result of the post above, a couple of friends of mine expressed an honorable challenge. The question of Flynn's relationship to Turkey arose. It's a concern many have, no matter how strongly they support General Flynn. Here was my response:
I was able to view the entire conference will offer just a few thoughts below.

2) I had intended to take careful notes and write up a thorough report. I rapidly jettisoned that intention and just watched. And the one thing that kept reverberating for me was that there is no other such voice in America. Contemplate that.
3) Adversity has hardened our General, the refiner's fire has cleansed the weaknesses, the resulting iron is both stiff and supple. Supple to take a fine edge, sharp as can be. Stiff to be strong and to cut through clean and quick.
If there's one man in America who knows and speaks for our great veterans, it is @RealFenFlynn. You won't find him here at Twitter. But you will at Telegram, here:
2) Yesterday, General Flynn and I had a far reaching conversation. He guided me in three areas:
1) America's Veteran Community 2) The Grassroots Takeover of the Republican Party 3) Matthew Trewhella's great book, The Doctrine of the Lesser Magistrate
3) Before we dive in, let's talk about Telegram vs Twitter for a moment. Many of my friends have shared that they find Telegram a bit difficult at first. I understand this and want to encourage you to work through the initial stage and embrace it. I'll explain.
2) It now being June of 2021, I've been active here at Twitter for just over 4 years. During these years I've made several serious technology learning commitments in real part driven by the art of being a thread writer. I still have a long way to go!
3) I have missed one of the most fundamental requirements yet, which I'm changing, and will soon master. Let me use two terms to express it. The most basic is Organization. Alongside it though is something I call Documentation Power. I'll explain the second term first.
2) Before tackling the lessons of the failure, I feel the need to review past work as context. I'll skip over Election 2020, and the mid-terms of 2018 as each their own special cases. But two races in 2016 are directly pertinent. Yesterday's primary makes the 3rd in that line.
3) The first campaign I volunteered to serve was Wisconsin District 1's 2016 Republican primary. I worked on behalf of Paul Nehlen, who lost to Paul Ryan. Truth is, I supported Nehlen in order to stop Ryan and we failed terribly. Interestingly, Ryan took 60% of the vote.
Dupers And Their Dupes, The Democrat Party’s Evil Smirk
Can a single facial expression express a person's entire life? If they're a sociopath, the answer is yes. It is a smirk. An evil, tiny grin. It is the joy of control.
2) The smirk is easy to find. You can see it on Biden's face in his Ukraine video with the 6 hours. You can see it on Hillary's face with her basket of deplorables. You can see it on Obama's face in his second debate with Romney, when Candy Crowley joins him against Mitt.
3) You can see it on McCain's face when he gives his thumbs down against the repeal and replacement of Obamacare. You can see it on John Kerry's face, on John Edward's face and perhaps most of all on Al Gore's and Bill Clinton's faces. In all cases, the smirk of control.
