Twitter changed my life forever.

In just 1 year, I:

• Built an audience
• Sold my 1st product
• Made dozens of friends
• Landed the coolest gig ever

The same can happen to you if...

You learn how to use Twitter to connect with like-minded folks.

Here's how you do it:
The quality of your Twitter experience depends on the people you follow.

To curate your feed,

Seek out:

• Peers on a similar journey
• Positive, generous mentors

Avoid:

• Following too many people
• News, politics, drama and gossip
The same way you curate your feed, you also want to curate your followers.

Treat your profile real state (bio, banner, pinned tweet) as a landing page.

Your goal is not only increasing your follower count...

But also making sure you’re attracting the right people.
Start and engage in thoughtful conversations.

When you find an interesting tweet,

• Pause
• Reflect
• And reply (thoughtfully)

Look for ways to add value to the convo.

Avoid random, irrelevant replies.
Do your homework.

Being spontaneous works.

But if you're trying to ask a successful person for something...

You want to do some research first:

• Dig their story
• Check their work
• Find common interests
• Find potential pain points
• Look for ways to help 'em too
Always take the lead when DMing people.

Don’t wait for them to reach out to you.

Don’t know what to say?

• Show appreciation for their work
• Offer them your help or feedback
• Share a resource they might enjoy

Give. Then, take.

Everyone can use some love and support.
DMs are magical, but Zoom calls are 10x better.

If you vibe with a person you’re DMing, ask them to jump on a call.

That’s an excellent way to get to know them better and build a closer relationship.

Plus, its very cool to put a real voice and face to the static avatars.
Nurture the relationships you build.

Don’t take them for granted.

I know — everyone's busy.

But even an occasional note can make all the difference.

Always remind your friends that you're there for them if they need you.
Build in public.

Document your journey & share everything you learn along the way...

Both from success & failure.

Be humble and transparent.

There's no need to pretend you know it all.

We don't need more "gurus".

Once you’ve found your people, keep up with them.

Not just in the DMs, but also in the feed.

• Make a Twitter list and add them
• Turn on their post notifications
• Block out time for engaging

It's all about nurturing the relationships you build.
Twitter is awesome.

But it can easily become a distraction too.

If you’re on Twitter all day long...

You won’t be able to get any deep, meaningful work done

Remember: the key is being intentional.

That's it!

Getting people to read your work is hard.

You spend hours researching, writing, editing, battling impostor syndrome & procrastination...

And when you finally hit publish:

🦗 Crickets 🦗

Don't panic.

You can solve this today by using this simple copywriting formula:
PAS is a 3-step, time-tested framework that works like magic.

The best copywriters have used it for decades

to create attention-grabbing ads & sales pages

that sold billions of dollars in products.
It doesn't matter if you're not writing copy for a sales page or an ad, though.

Whatever you write, you can use PAS to make it more powerful.

The best part?

This framework will not only help increase your viewership & engagement...

But also write faster & more confidently.

Hemingway was one of the most successful fiction writers of his time.

But he could've also been a tremendous business writer.

His 4 rules for writing are a recipe for crafting a clear, potent message.

Here's how you can use them to produce 10x better content:
Hemingway’s 4 rules for great writing:

1. Use short sentences
2. Use vigorous English
3. Be positive, not negative
4. Use short first paragraphs

Let’s break down each one of them.
Short sentences are easy to understand.

Long, wordy sentences, on the other hand, are clunky, confusing and complicated.

See the difference?

To keep your sentences tight, use:

• Shorter words
• Fewer adjectives
• More "." than ","
• 1 sentence for each idea

"Show, don't tell" is not just great writing advice...

It's also great career advice.

When Nora Ephron passed away in 2012, she'd become one of most successful writers & filmmakers of her time.

Wanna know how she landed her first job as a writer?

Hint: She didn't apply

🧵
Born in NYC, Nora was raised in Beverly Hills, California.

As a high school student, though, she always dreamed of moving back to NYC to become an accomplished writer.

Probably because both of her parents were noted writers.
4 years later, after graduating from college and doing an internship at the White House,

She moved back to NYC and applied to be a writer at Newsweek magazine.

But they "didn't hire women writers" at the time.

So she ended up accepting a position as a mail girl.
