2. #CyrilRamaphosa: Our first 300 000 #JnJ doses will be used to vaccinate teachers and school staff. Thereafter the next essential workers group that will be prioritised will be security personnel on the frontline. BUT: Our immediate task is to vaccinate people of 60+.
3. #CyrilRamaphosa : SA has the capacity to vaccinate 150 000 people/day (we’re currently doing 80 000 because of a lack of jabs - until our #JnJ jabs arrive).
4. #CyrilRamaphosa: SA is planning to ramp up the nr of daily vaccinations from 80 000 to 150 000 to 250 000. As the president I would prefer 300 000 per day.
5. #CyrilRamaphosa: Good news = the nr of #HealthWorker infections in the 3rd wave (vs. infection during the same stage of the 2nd wave) is much lower. Only 64 workers have been infected so far, so those who got vaccinated in #Sisonke with #JnJ is clearly being protected.
6. #CyrilRamaphosa: The reason SA will be able to increase the number of #COVID vaccinations per day is because once we get our #JnJ jabs, we will be able to use both #Pfizer and #JnJ shots and therefore have at least double the nr of jabs to use than what we have now.
