Microsoft made several announcements today regarding the future of hybrid work. Hybrid is the new term for telecommuting, but with an organizational focus instead of individual. The #MicrosoftTeams blog post is here news.microsoft.com/june-2021-hybr… 1/10
Among the announcements are several new features for asynchronous collaboration, new chat features, and some hardware and software updates to #MSTeams Rooms (MTR). 2/10
In this TalkingPointzThread I want to highlight new room hardware. This includes a new product from @PolyCompany and a new partner with @neat_no 3/10
Lets start with the new Studio E70 from @PolyCompany. This is a new USB AV bar-like unit for larger rooms. It features 2x 4k 20 megapixel intelligent cameras and mic array. It has a very modern look. Poly’s propeller logo now has wings. 4/10
The two cameras work together - one wide one tele and it can even do adv tricks like group framing and speaker tracking. Can connect to anything, but will be bunded with Poly codecs G7500 and X50 - and sold by itself. $3499. 5/10
The partnership with @neat_no is a big win for Neat. Gives existing customers an option to reuse equipment with Teams, and will appeal to new prospects that reject single vendor devices. 6/10
Neat share holders will see a big win as Neat's TAM just dramatically expanded. @ericsyuan in particular gets a second chance now if an account goes with Teams instead of @Zoom. 7/10
Not all Neat products will work on Teams. Ixnay on the Neat Board, I doubt the @neat_no Pad can be multipurposed as a room panel. Also, Neat will run an Android client, and MS treats Android as a second class citizen (which is more than Google Meet offers). 8/10
For Neat, working with #MSTeams opens up a lot more opportunities, but MS tends to get heavily involved in product design. MS will also presumably require separate SKUs (for identical hardware) as it does with others. Maybe even a Teams button on some devices. 9/10
Microsoft adding Neat is a signal that @PolyCo and @Logitech are doing very well. Microsoft tends to give the partner pie additional slices as it grows. 10/10

The two companies have a similar vision, both have a complementary focus on customer service and experience. Genesys calls it Experience as a Service. Qualtrics calls it Experience Management. 2/9
The idea is to better understand (or map) all of the signals and data from interactions. Elements of #CCaaS#VOC and #CRM 3/9
The Financial and Healthcare Experiences Clouds seem mostly marketing to me, but hard to tell. They did say the bots are trained with industry specific terms and have sector specific integrations. But are those terms and integrations unavailable otherwise? #Opentalkmoments 2/5
The US President has called to revoke #Section230, surprisingly this has bi-partisan support. VP Biden also wants to do away Section 230. This could impact enterprise communications too. #TwitterThreadz
#Section230 is confusing, thus highly misunderstood. It is about immunity and liability of online content 2/11
Before Google, Facebook, and Twitter existed, Congress passed the Comms Decency Act (96). Information sites were shifting from content creation to content hosting. The goal of #Section230 was to foster engagement, participation, and online free speech 3/11
