(1) Since a lot of MAGA folk are stridently talking about Biden's comments today concerning 2A, here's my take on the subject.

Let's start with Don Jr endorsing Michael Malice's take on 1/6. (I only saw the @TrumpsAlert tweet bc Malice RTd it.)

(2) Michael Malice (who has a new book out) is known for some really effective pranking of the left from time to time, and for political commentary and satire.

His view of 1/6 below matches that of the MAGA movement.

(3) Indeed, the (supposedly) conservative answer to The Onion echoed the same view:

(4) We who supported a bipartisan #Jan6Commission (ie we're not all Democrats) have never argued that "the government was almost toppled" on 1/6.

Parroting that lie just makes you look dumb.

(5) "A bunch of unarmed dudes."

2.5 lies in this one. "Bunch" is made to sound like a small group. Reportedly 4,500 people breached the line that day, after fewer than 1,000 LEOs fought with their own bodies to defend it. >138 were injured.

(6) The rioters of 1/6 certainly were armed. In several cases, LEOs found firearms on them. But of course:

THE WORD ARMED DOES NOT JUST MEAN FIREARMS.

Hundreds more used IMPROVISED weapons that can be deadly.

(7) "A bunch of unarmed dudes."

Lie 1: A bunch
Lie 2: Unarmed
Lie 3: Dudes.

As in just dudes, like your mates at a bar. Not terrorists or cop assaulters. We #BackTheBlue y'know?

(8) The "viking hat guy" is another incredibly stupid 1/6 lie to parrot.

MAGA cult victims claim that the presence (in single digits among >450 defendants) of some confused individuals who DID NOT say they went there bc Trump told them to means he must be 100% innocent.

(9) The number of non Trumpers posing as Trumpers during the rioting is extremely small.

Yet he (and the public figures who parrot the same lies about 1/6 as he does) tries to convince people it was all incited by this handful of people, and even by FBI agents.

Puh-leeze.

(10) Now let's turn to the MAGA world angst about Biden's 2A comments today.

@Breaking911 is an account that services the far right community in much the same way similar accounts service the far left community.

ie, through lying by omission.

(12) I think Biden went off script: You can see later on when he starts reading from the teleprompter again, because he repeats himself.

MAGA folk are taking his words LITERALLY not figuratively.

After complaining for years that media erred by taking Trump's words literally.

(13) Biden appears to have gone off script and blurted out a set of well-used, perennial Democrat talking points about 2A.

It's just so unprecedented! For a sitting POTUS to just blurt stuff out! No one's ever done that before!

(14) Here is the text of 2A:

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed."

(15) I assume Biden interprets the "well regulated" part to mean that the US government has always retained the right to restrict the keeping and bearing of certain types of arms, which AFAIK has been the interpretation used by the courts repeatedly.

That's one part of this.

(16) Many MAGA folk have interpreted Biden's words today as a direct threat to use F-15s and nuclear weapons on US citizens. Good Lord, people. Get a grip.

You'd think you'd recognize something you use so often.

(17) The MAGA folk I'm referring to are so busy looking under every rock to show that Democrats are violent authoritarian Commies and the need for a Civil War II could arise at any moment.

Meanwhile, the rest of us see the evidence of Trump's own #JourneyToAuthoritarianism.

(18) If losing the House, Senate & White House to the Democrats was gonna be such a clear & present danger to your life, liberty, & pursuit of happiness, ask Dear Leader why he threw it all away so casually.

I doubt you would like to hear the honest answer to that question.
