i didn't know them very well, but they reached out to sympathize when things seemed most hopeless, which i appreciate beyond words

it's difficult to convey the sheer weight of what i know they felt. feeling like a whole mob is breathing down your neck, every second of every day. always on edge, waiting for the next nightmare to appear from nowhere. never quite sure who you can trust, who will turn on you.

but it's also nearly invisible. there are no mean-spirited replies to any of the tweets about this, so you wouldn't think anything had been happening to them at all. it makes you feel insane. something following you in the shadows that no one else sees

even from a distance, it was obvious that near was brimming with passion and dedication and skill... and kindness and warmth, even if held more closely

and they have taken all of that

suffice to say i cannot express my true feelings because they would violate the twitter rules

rip @near_koukai. i can't think of a better way to honor your legacy than to keep making things, so i guess i will go try to do that
