📣📣 HUGE! @CMSGov OFFICIALLY launches $0-Premium #SecretPlatinum eligibility for those on unemployment in 2021! #GetCovered
acasignups.net/21/06/29/cms-o…
Thanks to the #AmRescuePlan, #ACA enrollees earning less than 150% are eligible for $0-premium "CSR 94 Silver" plans in most states...which have extremely low deductibles/co-pays to the point that they're effectively the same as Platinum plans! 1/
ALSO thanks to the #AmRescuePlan, if you're receiving unemployment benefits OR IF YOU DID EARLIER THIS YEAR, you're ALSO now likely eligible for a $0-Premium #SecretPlatinum plan as well!

Some states went live with this already; HealthCare.Gov goes live July 1st!
Note: The minimum premium for enrollees in any plan in CA, OR, WY & NY, or in certain plans in some other states is a minimum of $1/month regardless of your income or unemployment status.

ONCE AGAIN: I raised $6 million DIRECTLY for Dem candidates last cycle. I didn’t take a dime of it. And I don’t expect them to kiss my ass or even give me the time of day. All I expect them to do is vote for good policy and save democracy. That’s it.

📣 It's been a few weeks since I ran the county-level plots so I figure it's time to update them.

NOTE: I've expanded the Y-axis from 70% out to 90% of the entire population, which is the highest you could conceivably get to if limited to ages 12+.

CALIFORNIA. R^2: 0.7581.
ALABAMA.
Vaccination rates only range from 14 - 41%.
KANSAS.
Anyone know if there's anything special about Graham County (pop. 2,500)?

Excellent birthday weekend. My wife, son and I just hung out at home and watched The Hunt for Red October, Pleasantville, Groundhog Day, Gattaca and Crimson Tide (we started and finished with the 2nd & 3rd best submarine movies…I know Das Boot is #1).
One thing that shocked me to find out: Yes, smoking was permitted on Navy submarines until 2010, well after both movies were made.

📣 WOOT!! One of the best birthday presents I could ask for: @CMSGov throws out a bunch of Trump's rancid #NBPP2022 turkeys!!
acasignups.net/21/06/28/break…
Some of you may remember last winter I was freaking out trying to get people to post public comments opposing some last-minute time bombs that Trump's CMS Admin tried to plant on her way out the door.

The comment project was great but she shoved them through anyway....
...FORTUNATELY, the Biden Admin grabbed them and stopped them in their tracks anyway, and is now officially flushing them down the drain.

Last week SCOTUS saved the ACA; today CMS reversed some peripheral damage before it started. Mazel Tov to @SecBecerra & @BrooksLaSureCMS!

(sigh) This semantic parsing over the word "access" when it comes to healthcare has really gotten on my nerves over the years. 1/
Yes, there HAVE been times when it's used in a cynical/doublespeak way, usually by Republicans , who usually use it in the sense that "Anyone can go to the Emergency Room!" 2/
The response to THAT usage is usually to make a sarcastic metaphor like "Everyone has *access* to a Porsche in the sense that they're allowed to buy one, but that doesn't mean they can afford to!" 3/

HOWEVER...
