Florida cases have risen ~50% in 2 weeks. Florida is one of the states with least #COVID19 safety measures. Maybe banning mask rules and banning vaccination verification was a bad idea. 🤷🏻‍♂️ #DeltaVariant doesn’t care it’s summer.
2) Countless people are not taking the #DeltaVariant seriously. But Delta is damn serious.

6) meanwhile in other countries seeing a #DeltaVariant surge, they are already going to 3rd dose.
7) Florida and other southern US states need to look what is happening in Israel which is much much more protected by vaccines than they are. We need masks and other mitigation, not just whimsical fanciful hopes #DeltaVariant will just disappear on its own.
8) I’m worried why there isn’t that much national media coverage of the surge in Florida and other states seeing case rises. Really worrisome that others are calling it out as strange too.
9) Here is the #DeltaVariant COVID reality in Missouri now… ICUs full, short on nurses, respiratory therapists. Another ICU opened.

2) This is a horrible terrible no good very bad idea. UK is much less vaccinated than Israel and with much less Pfizer. Yet Israel seeing cases rise, and hospitalizations still increasing. And the vaccine much weaker against #DeltaVariant

EFFICACY DROP—New Israel 🇮🇱 Health Ministry data show that 2-doses Pfizer vaccine against #DeltaVariant over the past month is now just 64% effective in preventing #COVID19 infection. In constrast in May, before #DeltaVariant prevalent, vaccine was 94%. 🧵

2) Meanwhile, another study from researchers at the Hebrew University and Hadassah University Medical Center indicated that the Pfizer vaccine is 60-80% effective against infection from the #DeltaVariant.
3) The Delta variant, which is believed to be twice as contagious as the original strain of COVID-19, is thought to be responsible for 90% of new cases in Israel over the past two weeks.

📍Bathroom airborne transmission confirmed. Whether breathing, toilet🚽 plume, or fecal aerosols doesn’t matter—it stayed in air for 40 minutes before infecting next person. @AliNouriPhD & I have been warning about fecal, bathroom, & septic ventilation for long time. #COVID19 🧵
2) Many past examples of fecal aerosol transmission of the #SARSCoV2 virus - such as in large high rise buildings that share toilet drainage pipes between different apartments / condo units. Yes the graphic is quite graphic, but that’s why photos worth 1000 words…
3) We also know feces can carry active coronavirus that causes #COVID19. Fauci says so, as well as pediatric studies that show the virus living in intestines of children for over a month. Often without symptoms.

What the hell are these people thinking? #DeltaVariant is damn serious: faster, more severe, more problematic for partially vaccinated, and transmits via fleeting exposure. 6 in 10 people don’t what the hell they are facing. Stay safe folks. #COVID19

📊Worrisome—3 in 10 (29%) Americans say they are not likely to get vaccinated, including 20% saying they will definitely not do so. 86% of Democrats got at least one shot of a vaccine, versus 45% of Republicans. ➡️But #DeltaVariant does not care. #COVID19 washingtonpost.com/politics/post-…
2) But while 6 percent of Democrats say they aren’t likely to get vaccinated, 47 percent of Republicans fall into that camp, with 38 percent of Republicans overall saying they will definitely not get shots against the virus.
3) Most independents (54 percent) say they have received at least one shot and another 11 percent say they are likely to do so. Among independents, 22 percent say they will definitely not get vaccinated.
