Covid is raging in Missouri. We are the national hot spot. MO has the 3rd highest rate of gun deaths, and we haven’t funded Medicaid expansion.

In spite of this, we are here in the Capitol at a public hearing for Critical Race Theory, where public testimony isn’t allowed. #MoLeg

We’re approximately 3 minutes into the first testimony, and right-wing extremist Dr. Mary Byrne has already thrown out Marxism and leftist extremism.

A spox from MO DESE testifies that #CriticalRaceTheory is not being taught in #Missouri k-12 schools. He also points out that the low % of Black and Brown educators compared to the higher % of Black and Brown students needs to be improved. ALL children need representation. #MoLeg

Representative Doug Richey is now digging into the DESE spokesperson about whether or not DESE is addressing the mental health of the white kids who are being shamed in the classroom for being white.

As accusations are thrown around stating that teachers aren’t focusing enough on math, science… Rep Burnett points out that Missouri ranks 49th in terms of public education funding.

It’s almost as if the teaching of accurate American history isn’t the problem. #MoLeg

Representative Nick Schroer continually talks about Missouri educators going rogue and indoctrinating our children. This is a full on attack on public education and the educators within the system. #MoLeg

Senator @JillSchupp states that the teaching of American history doesn’t always need to be fair and balanced because our history hasn’t always been fair and balanced.

We are now hearing from Katie Rash, who introduced herself as a mom and an advocate from St. Peters. Interesting that this mom was invited to testify. #MoLeg

Katie Rash is now expressing great concern over a book that she heard might be in some schools. Mrs. Rash claims that it’s based on Critical Race Theory.

Katie Rash is the Missouri director for No Left Turn in Education. She is also an active member of the disgraced, racist group, Concerned Parents of Rockwood. Here you can see that she is upset that a Black 5th grade student spoke at the Board mtg about not feeling represented.

Representative Nick Schroer states that educators are turning their classrooms into social justice camps.

These camps have not been offered at my kid’s schools, but if anyone knows where I can sign my kids up, please let me know. It sounds wonderful.

Senator Cindy O’Laughlin was just called out on the fact that she is the only one who was allowed to invite people to testify, and that everyone here to testify today is opposed to #CriticalRaceTheory and the #1619Project. #MoLeg

Representative Doug Richie claims that it was very difficult to find people willing to testify in support of #CriticalRaceTheory. I can very easily count at least 100 people who would have loved to testify in support of our educators. Have any of you been contacted? #MoLeg

We are now listening to a white educator who states that #CriticalRaceTheory says that if you don’t agree with lgbtq, you’re the enemy.

Let me be clear, you CANNOT disagree with someone’s identity. You CANNOT disagree with who someone is. That is what we call hate.
