CJI NV Ramana led bench of #SupremeCourt to hear the matter relating to #CoalScam. The top court had earlier appointed former ASG Maninder Singh and Rajesh Batra as Special Public Prosecutor in the case

CJI led bench hears an IA regarding an officer who wishes to be relieved from the post of supervisory officer.

Adv Prashant Bhushan: We have no objection to relieving these officers. No objection to 2 officers being relieved

Adv Prashant Bhushan: there is some problem with mentioning for urgent listing. I have heard from other lawyers that we file urgency application and mentioning branch says its forwarded but its languishing

CJI: I dont want to give any priority to the senior counsels that is why mentioning officer is there. So there is parity.

Bhushan: I asked if i can mention before CJI since its not getting listed, I was told that's not the system

CJI: you can automatically mention if it ios rejected. Present a specific case i will look into it.

SG Tushar Mehta: I have no objection

Adv ML Sharma: I am the original applicant. Till today not one of the accused is even on bail forget being arrested

CJI: Please contain the arguments to this IA

Sharma: I have no objection

Adv Bhushan: There is an IA regarding registration of a FIR in a particular coal block. Justice Lokur had recused if you can please direct it to be listed

CJI: Please send the papers, I will take a look and decide.
