We are shutting down all vehicle entrances to Raytheon's facility in Portsmouth, Rhode Island.

Two people have attached themselves to vehicles that are blocking the main entrance to the facility.

Raytheon is the largest producer of guided missles in the world and is the second largest military contractor. They have sold billions of dollars of weapons to both Israel and Saudi Arabia which have been used to kill civilians in Palestine and Yemen.

Raytheon sells billions of dollors of a wide variety of missles and other military equipment to Israel and Saudi Arabia, including missles for their F-16 fighter jets. Raytheon also produces Israel's "Iron Dome" defense system.

Numerous times over the past 15 years, Raytheon made weapons have been directly linked to the killing of civilians in Palestine. Often from Raytheon produced missles that are fired by Israeli's F-16 fighter jets (investigate.afsc.org/company/raythe…)

Raytheon produced missiles have also been directly linked to the killing of hundreds of civilians in Yemen, including a 2018 air strike that targetted a wedding in which 21 civilians were killed and another 97 injured.

When the Obama Adminstration decided to support the War on Yemen in 2015, Raytheon booked more than $3 billion in weapons sales to Saudi Arabia.

In April 2021 the Biden Adminstration approved the sale of $23 billion worth of weapons, including fighter jets and armed drones to the United Arab Emirates who have also been active on the war on Yemen. This sale included Raytheon produced weapons.

Raytheon is active in creating and enforcing colonial borders around the world. They have deployed "border solutions" including 6000 miles of border walls, 500 surveillance stations, and 9000 border officers to 24 countries.

From 2005-2019 Raytheon recieved $37 million in contracts from U.S. Customs and Border Protection, while also recieving other government contracts to enforce the detention and deportation of undocumented people. #AbolishICE #ShutDownICE

This is all happening HERE IN RHODE ISLAND. Raytheon is the second highest political donor to @SenJackReed, who is the chair of the Senate Armed Forces Committee. Over the past two years Raytheon was also the second highest campaign donor to @JimLangevin

All traffic into and out of the facility is totally blocked. Raytheon offices in Portsmouth are CLOSED FOR THE DAY. #ShutItDown

A worker told us we are wasting our time, that Raytheon won't close. He is not at work right now.

That worker then yelled "we're gonna bomb your cars" and "don't move to Palestine"

We have been moved to the grass by the office. Our Facebook account is live-streaming the action and further updates will be provided here. #ShutItDown

We have been here for an hour and a half and are not going anywhere! Cars are completely blocked from entering the facility. About a dozen cop cars are here from Portsmouth and Middletown.

Fire department is beginning to attempt extraction with heavy machinery. They are blocking lines of sight.

One person has been extracted from the vehicle, and loud machinery can be heard from the other. The entrances are still blocked. It has now been 3 hours.

Our friends are being extracted, though entrances still are blocked.
