I am Caucasian, College educated Nurse. I worked for State helping poor people get long care services at home. I visited poor people who read the paper my name was in as a Tax Sale and probably wondered how I could be so upbeat. Multiple Sclerosis ever present.

I was trying to hold my life together with this MS MonSter on me all the time. Money dwindling and my retirement went to pay farm taxes plus fees, penalties to people who never apologized or even admitted it was wrong. All I could do was hope Karma kicked them, hard.
I barely started wondering how the Civil War ended in 1865 and there is Still a Divide. North and South, Black and White, Left and Right. After the Civil War where My G G Grandfather died fighting Slavery at Shiloh, Slavery Endured, only with a slightly different structure…
Some Blacks got land grants and then…lost to taxes or too many heirs, divided, splintered. Some Blacks Incarcerated and used as Prisoner Slave Laborers. That’s when I stopped searching. Why Didn’t Compassionate Northerners Advocate for Blacks After Emancipation?
My thoughts circle back to the War wasn’t about Slavery. At least, down deep. It was about Access and Control of Resources, Taxes, Power. What if the South has seceded? Would the North be eating canned vegetables all winter? Would barges stop heading North on the Mississippi?
What if all the taxes in the South stopped going to Washington DC?
