There is NO public discussion around the vaccines. We are just supposed to trust the FDA and "smart people" , no questions asked. But the FDA is a government agency and the government has lied to us plenty over the years and the lies only intensified during the pandemic. (1/?)

I got my mom (80) and myself vaccinated as soon as was possible. After seeing Covid devastate New York last spring, and considering mom's state of health (requiring ER visits) it was a no brainer for us. My child can not be an orphan or settled with disabled mom at 10. 2/?

But do not expect me to have the same attitude towards vaccinating my 10 y old. Do I want to protect him from Covid? Yes! I am keeping him at home for an extra year and tightening our routine back to where it was before we were vaccinated. (Sorry mom, no more boyfriend)

The highest vaccine hesitancy is among the PhDs, yes, slightly higher even than people who didn't go to college. That concerns me. As I said elsewhere the videos that my ultra religious southern family sends me contain obvious lies and they do not worry me. 4/?

But what about those scientists (who may or may not have an ulterior motive) who are going into the nitty gritty of how the vaccine might harm us down the road? If their science is nonsense, easily debunked why not have this discussion in the open. 5/?

If I was the president I'd have a televised conference at the white house with dozens of those scientists who are raising concerns and have them debunked in public. With graphs and statistics etc. 6/?

I think taking the vaccine is a gamble. The stakes are: the presence vs the future. Immediate Covid death or disability vs something unknown down the road. When the ambulance sirens were wailing my mind was made up: let's just survive THAT. Don't risk orphaning your child! 7/?

But what if those making decisions that the vaccines are safe, like me, were influenced by the sound of the wailing sirens and are taking a gamble, with us and for all of us, "we need to handle this horrible situation right now, we will worry about the future in the future."8/?

And don't think that horrible mistakes have not been made by scientists & doctors in the past, especially when serving a public health policy goal. 9/?

Remember in the 80s people were told to put babies in their cribs on their bellies? Which resulted in heightened incidents of crib death? Science is constantly discussed BY SCIENTISTS. 10/?
