I asked people at various forums about the paranormal experiences they had - something that had no logical explanation . It did not had to be scary , just inexplainable .
Here are few -
The Obituary- " As a matter of habit , I read obituaries in newspaper. Its fascinating to see how they differ as per the class . The bigger the obituary , the larger is the wealth left behind for family . Also , the rich have the remembrance prayers at fancy places
like chinmaya mission at lodhi road and middle class at local temples etc . Even in death , they differ by class .
Anyways , so I came across this obituary of a family friend. I was sure that my parents already knew about it so I didn't mention anything and forgot about it .
Next day my mother told me that Bhatnagar uncle had passed away . I told her that I already knew as I saw the obituary in newspaper yesterday . My mum was stunned - " How could that be ?. She said - " He passed away this morning , just couple of hours back !"
I told her she must be mistaken and went to get yesterdays newspaper . I opened the obituary page .
There was no mention of Bhatnagar uncles obituary that I saw yesterday . Nothing .
When the obituary actually did get published , it was exactly the one I saw .
same picture and everything .
Just one difference, the one that I saw earlier had no mention of date below the picture . You know how they write Birthday - day of death. I even found it strange then .
I don't know what it was, maybe that's what people call vision
I have not experienced any other death of known people since then , so I don't know if this was the only case or it will happen again "
The street dog - This was sent by @Vickster469
" Not exactly a paranormal experience but a story that my mom always tell me. There was a kid in our old neighborhood. Ek number ka badmash.
So he apparently used to hurt street dogs a lot by throwing stones at them, torturing em
and one day he took it way further. Our colony had a street dog that was adopted by entire colony ( the way it generally is in most close knit colonies ) . She had given birth to a litter . This kid drowned the few days old puppies by sticking their head inside the
lake. Not satisfied with that he got the dead bodies and displayed them outside his house . The mama dog tried to make her babies move and kept crying . Eventually she left and was never seen in neighbourhood
Fast forward few years , this guy developed liking for swimming and went to the same lake to swim and was drowned .
When they bought his dead body back to the house , that dog was sitting right outside the house and howling . She had been gone for years
and suddenly appeared just at that moment !
The dog then followed them to the cremation ground Sat there till the time body was fully burned and then was never seen again
The disappearance- " My dad was a fisherman and often used to go deep sea fishing and used to be at sea for 2-3 days at stretch .
Like always , he left for a trip and before getting on boat he called us on house phone to say good bye ( this was early 90s) .
He never returned .
The boat was never recovered and neither were the bodies of people . We moved on - I went to Mumbai to study , got job etc , my mum moved in with me . We left the house as-is and just had it cleaned up once in a while .
In early 2000 , I visited the house again with the
intention of selling it and started cleaning the house . The landline rang . I picked up, there was no response . It rang again . Again I picked up . No response .
It rang again . This time my mother picked up . There was a pause and a voice said in Malayalam
" I am sorry for your husband , but we had no choice " .
The phone line had been disconnected many years ago We had just kept the instrument.
Story number 4 -
The patient - " I am a nurse in a private hospital. Some time back we had a very old lady ( 90+) who had fallen and fractured her hip . Because of her age , her condition was very serious . She also had a rare psychiatric disorder called Echolalia
in which occasionally the person meaninglessly repeats what other person is saying . So she would repeat what I would say and what doctor would say and we got used to it .
Then one night I saw her blankly looking at the ceiling and talking into air . She was not
very loud so I could not make out what she was talking . But when even after 45 minutes she did not stop - I got closer to her to hear what she was saying . I was stunned.
She was narrating the history of people who had died in this room and in 1st person .
As if there were people in the room who were narrating how they died in this room and she was repeating it . She was 100% accurate .
She went on like this for 10-12 hours and then died soon after . "
Story number 5- This was sent by a Dr friend on twitter who wants to remain annon -
This story is a reality not a work of fiction. Me n my parents shifted to a new rented place in navimumbai, in a high rise building.. ours was on the 7th floor. The rent was quite
low as compared to others in the area but we never digged into it . As it was a new place, i used to be awake late night...One such night as i was watching champions league on tv, sitting on the platform near window and enjoying cool breeze,
i heard some voice from the kids garden just backside of our building. As i looked down, i saw a young girl dressed in a knee length black frock swinging to and fro with her full might.
Now remember , its 3AM and I looking at a 7-8 years old girl , laughing on the swings
I tried to justify it by thinking maybe she along with parents are coming back from somewhere and she just stopped for the swings .
Almost 20 minutes went by and she was still there . I stretched a little further to get a better look at her and to my horror I found her staring
right into my eyes . She just kept staring . As the swing moved up , her eyes kept staring harder at me .
I was taken aback and closed my eyes for a minute . When I opened again . She was not there anymore .
I never saw that girl again and after few months we moved out .
A patient of mine told some months later that the building in which i resided, a girl jumped fell from the 12th floor 5 years ago. She must have been of 7-8 years. Many people has reported such incidents and thats why the rent of that floor is so low.
Story number 6 - This was sent by CXO level friend from twitter who wants to be annon -
This happened in Madras. I must’ve been 10. One evening I was standing at our main gate when in the house across from ours I saw our neighbor’s elderly mom come down the staircase
and stand by the gate. She didn’t say hello or anything. She stood there watching the street. She knows all the kids because we play cricket on the same street. A little while and I ran back in. This happened around 5 in the afternoon.
Later that evening at the dinner table my grandmom (who was the same age as this lady) told us that this lady had passed away in the noon that day and that there’s a prayer meeting in the church on the coming Sunday.
I told her it was not possible as I saw her outside her gate just few hours back at 5 in the evening so how could she could have passed away at noon !
No one said anything. They never brought up the subject again either.
Story number 7 -
This has been sent by a friend from twitter who wants to be annon:
Born in Bangladesh, my dadaji ( Dadu ) had to leave everything after partition and come to Delhi to start afresh. this incident is about his friend named Sharmaji
who was quite different from the rest. He used to worship no Gods but only his parents who were no more. He could actually predict a lot in the future too . He once predicted that my dadi will pass away at the age of 65
due to some brain related issue. And guess what , my dadi passed away at the age of 65 due to a brain hemorrhage !!
Anyways coming back to the incident , one cold night of December my dadu passed away. The year was 1989
Next morning the news spread about my dadu's passing away ! And Sharmaji came to pay his respects.
As soon as he came, he requested my father and uncle to vacate the room where my dadu's photograph was kept. My family members duly obliged.
For the next half an hour what my family saw was next to nothing but a miracle . Sharmaji had sat down in front of the photograph and started talking to my dadu as if he was sitting in front of him .
He was seen replying to questions that were probably being asked by my dadu and was also heard asking questions to him !
After half an hour, he came out of the room and told our family that my dadu was well on his path and was doing well and was in peace.
With that he mentioned the will to go to Haridwar with us for the Asthi Visarjan ( which we were suppose to go in a couple of days ). After he left the elders in my family started discussing the issues with taking him
along to Haridwar as he was quite old himself and in those times we weren't that rich to afford private cars or taxis to take us. We would use UP roadways buses which were anything but comfortable on the body.
Next day, Sharmaji suddenly came and told my father that last night I had a chat with your father ( my dadu ) and he said that you all were circumspect about taking him to Haridwar. He said Dadu told him not to go to Haridwar but come for the Kriya on 11th day.
Sharmaji came for the kriya and after that he was never seen , not at our house , neither in the area where we stayed !
Story number 8 - Shared by a friend from twitter who was a manager of hotel property in England & had to leave UK cause of such experiences
" This story is about when I was in The UK in 2011, I was working in a hotel in the beautiful
countryside of Henley Of Thames, beautiful place but also haunted. The place I used to work was itself a 600 years old building built for the use of royal family but later on converted into a boutique hotel
I used to live on site so 1 day on my day off I went out & came back in the evening, as I got to the hotel my GM told me that night DM won't be able to come to work due to the bad weather as it was snowing in Slough
& the other DM was at work the whole day so it's impossible for him to work the night shift. Fast forward to the evening I got to work & I was at work with another colleague of mine, as there was only 1 person . staying in the whole hotel that night, I asked my
colleague to go & have a nap in the lounge. Fast forward to 2:45am as I was sitting & watching videos on YouTube I heard a noise coming from the kitchen like someone is using the equipment's. First I thought it's my colleague cos the lounge was connected
through the kitchen so I brushed it off but it was a continuous noise for about 15 mins & I decided to go & check on him. To my disbelief he wasn't there & the microwave was on & when it stopped it opened on its on & literally a plate of food was hanging in the air.
I literally screamed at the top of my lungs & ran faster than the speed of sound. Next day I decided to dig deep to my horror 3 of our rooms overlooking a very old graveyard & 1 of the oldest church in The UK were haunted & so is our staff accommodation.
There are few more experiences aswell but then I got used to that stuff & carried on but after a very horrible experience of paranormal stuff at the Thames River I was gone into depression & after a while I decided to pack my bags & left the country"
STORY NUMBER 9 - This is a fascinating " glitch in matrix" incident from Bihar shared by a friend from twitter was wants to be annon . Its fascinating
" When I was a kid, it was a routine to visit our grandparents during the summer vacations
There was huge mango orchid in the village just a km away from our home. In the orchid, many villagers have their mango trees. We used to go there in the noon, and play games in the shade of trees.
One day, I was teasing one of my cousins and he got really pissed up.
He ran after me to beat me and I just ran and ran. After running for some 15 minutes, I stopped and looked back. He was nowhere, I looked back again and could not see any mango tree. There were just distant barren fields with no villages, no trees, no people in sight.
It is to be noted that mango trees are huge and they can be seen from a long distance while I had just run for approx 15 minutes. I thought I had run in a straight line so if I go back along that line I would reach back to that place.
After walking for some 30 minutes I saw a temple kind of structure situated in between the fields.
It felt odd to me that why would a temple be built in this place while there are no people/villages in sight.
But I also felt that I may be able to find someone there who can tell me the directions to reach back to home. Due to the scorching summers and so much physical exertion, I was thirsty too. There was a handpump visible to me.
Hence, I went to that place and started drinking water from the handpump. At that moment, I saw a man with yellow dhoti walking towards me. I noticed he was disable in one leg, and was walking very slowly. He had mark on his forehead. Seemed like temple priest
I told him my name and continued to drink water
I looked back to ask him directions. He was nowhere to be found. As he was disabled in one leg, he could not just have run . He just vanished and was nowhere in sight . I was frightened.
I started running away from that place unaware of the directions. I was crying and reciting hanuman chalisa. I ran and ran.
After running for I don't know how long, I again saw a similar type of structure but not in that ruined condition. I didn't have the courage to go inside but then I saw few people sitting under a peepal tree. I went there, frightened and asked them about the way to home.
They asked my grandfather's name. being a small village, everybody knew everyone and told me the way to home. As i exited from another side everything was a familiar sight.
My home was close. I knew where I was and how to go home.
At night I narrated the whole incident to my grandfather. He was stunned & told me this -
" Long time back somewhere near the mango orchid, there was a temple which had a disabled priest.
In the temple, there was a very costly idol of lord krishna. One day dacoits killed the priest and looted the temple. They took away the idol too. No one went to the temple after that incident and it was slowly swallowed by civilization. Even the structure has ceased to exist
and there are all mango orchards at that place .
We went back at the same place and waked in all directions number of times but never came across temple or handpump "
Story number 10 - A very personal story by my friend @madhur_mrt
" I was around six-seven when this creepy incident happened that cannot really be explained rationally.I was sleeping beside my mother, who was pregnant at the time.
My father was away on a work trip, so it was just my grandmother, my pregnant mother, and I at home. Even when I was a child, I had issues in falling asleep, so I was in bed, but wasn't asleep.
I was the one who was sleeping towards the side of the bed that faced the door.
When I turned towards the door, I saw this womanly figure there, who stood still at the threshold of the room.I continued to stare at that figure for a long time and that figure stood there, perfectly still. The room was dark, but the white womanly figure was perfectly visible
Also the figure seemed to extend a hand towards me.
The child in me continued to stare at the figure and eventually fell asleep thinking that the woman must be my grandmother, who may have come to check on us.
When I woke up in the morning I found that my grandmother was sleeping in the same room. She had been asleep through the night. She was not the one who I saw.
Who did I see? What did I see?
A few months later my mother delivered a boy
my brother - who only survived for three days. The delivery was complicated and my mother’s condition was also quite critical. It crippled the family financially.
Also, my father would go on to have a series of troubles at work,
which would drive us into severe financial insecurity for years. It took several years to recover from the toll of that phase.
The figure extended its hand, as if asking something, or calling something, and then the child died upon birth.
It may sound stupid saying this, but this has always been there at the back of my head.
I may have very well hallucinated that night, and the child’s death may have had nothing to do with what I saw that night, but still the entire incident remains creepy"

THIS IS THE MOST GUT WRENCHING & UNBELIEVABLE STORY I EVER HEARD -
Disclosure - This was sent to me in ramblings & sometimes incoherent sentences as if drunk so I stitched it together in my own words-
" You might think that I am completely cuckoo or suffering with some deep
mental health issues . You might be correct , in fact not a day goes by when I don't try to self diagnose as to which one am I or maybe I am both ? But since you collect these stories and I have not told anyone about it ever , I think this will serve both our purpose .
So here goes nothing -
" I am 30 now and these incidents started when I was 18 . I am from one the richest and quite influential family of Delhi . My mother , even though I say this myself , is and was always a bitch . She was a famous model of her times and only thing
I have been doing HR consulting for 17 years and it’s surprising that the things that establish your credibility at workplace require no skills and minimal effort , yet so many of this generation ignore it -
1) Be in time for calls/meeting - How difficult it is ?
And if you are late once in a while , apologize . CEOs of biggest companies when late for meeting begin with apology . 2) Stick to deadlines - If you commit to a deadline , stick to it . Regardless if it’s to a junior , peer or supervisor . Work deadlines are not Goa plans
That can be moved around as per your mood . 3) You are judged for every output you produce . focus on quality - Don’t deliver sub par output in the name of internal deliverable , first draft etc . So many people think just because it’s internal deliverable and not client facing
NEXT TIME THINK BEFORE GOING TO DELHI HAAT ( long thread but it might just save you )
We were deep inside Sanjay Van forest of Delhi. Tears rolled down the eyes of Deepak , as he blindfolded her and tied her to the tree. “ This is the only way to save my daughter “.
PI held him tight - “ I can’t help you if you don’t tell me everything from the beginning . When did all of this start “ . Deepak sat down under the same tree where he had tied her.
He wiped his tears - “ It was a Sunday just like any other . Me , wife and my daughter Divya
First went to Sarojini Nagar market to buy ek turi ka lahsun ( single pod garlic ) for my mother’s knee pain . It was Divya who found it for her grandmother , it’s only available at 1-2 places in entire Delhi . She loved her so much
Then we went to INA market
NOBODY BELIEVED THE STORY OF MY SCARS , WILL YOU ?
I have 10s of these scars and this is the story of these scars
Deepak and I grew up together . We were born in the same colony , went to the same school and were always together . I was 1 year elder to him but we were pretty much joined at the hip .
When we were around 10 , Deepak’s parents were expecting another kid .
I still remember the day Sneha was born . Deepak’s dad came to give us sweets in the morning and in the evening , they were sobbing at our house . Within few hours of birth , somebody had bitten off her finger . Yes , in the hospital . With everyone around
Have you ever seen this boy roaming at Sarojini Nagar market after midnight ?
The year was 1992 . My dad was transferred to Sarojini Nagar govt school. The school is right before the the market. We were allocated govt flat
which was just across the road from the school . Since my dad was to be posted in school for few years , I also took transfer to the same school .
I still remember it was a Sunday when we shifted to the house . The house did not lose any time in telling us that we were
not welcome in it . There was no slow burn . It was on our faces from the moment we stepped in only we did not realized it .
As is the tradition when you enter new house , my mother went to the kitchen to boil the milk . She poured milk in the pateela and turned on the burner
PARANORAL STORIES IN INDIAN ARMY : Paranormal army stories is a genre of its own especially in Japan and US . India also has its own share of such tales told over of what is called " Langar Gupp"
I will start with the most famous one.
The protector of Nathu La Pass, Sikkim:
Nathu La Pass is mountain pass between Tibet and Sikkim where many battles took place between the Indian Army and the PLA during the 1965 Sino-Indian war. During one of these battles , a 22 year old Jawan drowned in a glacier while leading a column of mules
carrying supplies to a remote outpost. Even after 3 days his remains were not found . Legend has it that another soldier had a dream in which the martyred soldier told him the location where the remains of the body were and also that even after death he will remain
