#thread In 2019, Turkey's spy agency MIT sent $600k to al-Shabab; in order to cover up the story, the Turkish gov asked a judge to @nordicmonitor who reported the story, and Somalia online outlets like Hiiraan online and Awdalpress who have published the Nordic story.
Keep in mind Erdogen recently provided $30M to Somalia gov in midst of election rigging and not to mention Turkey gov was aiding back in April the @M_Farmaajo coup that was foiled by the pro-democracy military-
On May 6th Qatar arrested its finance minister and Erdogan fired Turkey's central bank governor on May 26th, not sure if these events are connected to the Alshabaab financing that scooped Qatar-Turkey Axis or could be avoiding US gov sanctions who threatened Somalia spoilers.
Qatar-Turkey Axis are eyeing into Somalia oil blocks drilling rights. And both countries will do anything to keep @M_farmaajo in power or re-elected. And both are documented either aiding/coordinating with Alshabab in Somalia.

Besides Erdogen's predatory and corruption in Somalia, it's well known that Somalia political elites including former presidents, speakers, MPs, Senators, and state leaders are in his pocket and allegedly given apartments in Istanbul.
One of his most loyalist Minister is Somalia Minister of justice @Amohamednur an Islamist; took an op-ed on the state-run Anadolu news agency praising Erdogan. This is the kind of people Erdogen is breeding to control Somalia's future politics.

Somalia's next government would likely be influenced by Turkey and Qatar and the cycle of political crisis will continue in post-Farmaajo. The danger lies when Turkey and Qatar and Somali political profiteers negotiate with Alshabaab turning Somalia into Afghanistan. The End.

#Thread @MohamedHRoble was able to travel to Kenya because of pro-democracy military who temporary blocked temporary last night Villa Somalia when @M_Farmaajo ordered the PM to stay. The irony of this is that it was the PM who pushed out the pro-democracy military from Mogadishu
As I tweeted 3days ago, the pro-democracy militarily entered Mogadishu last week preparing to defend the PM incase Famaajo blocks him to visit Kenya and open direct flights and the commercial bilateral trade between two countries.
Why Farmaajo blocked PM to visit Kenya? Farmaajo only lifeline he has now is the Ethiopian Khat ( drug) revenue ( $500k/day) monopoly run by his brother. The new deal between Uhuru & PM Roble will diminish Farmaajo revenue & disrupt his election rigging scheme for re-election.

#Thread Ethiopia has restructured Addis-Djibouti Railwaiway (ADR) line loan of $4.5B for another 30yrs; mainly for two reasons:
1- Abiy gov insisted on electrifying the railway using clean energy from hydropower dams vs fossil fuel; increased d project cost & caused delays
2-The railway link was designed to reduce travel time from 3 days to 12 hrs & running 3 freight/day, because of repeated power outages due to climate change impacts neither travel time was reduced & revenues are realized to date: accumulating Ethiopia's $1B annual debt services.
Worse Ethiopian gov is pursuing debt financing other railway projects specially Awash-Kombombla-Hara Gebeya/ Weldiya Railway (AKH) increasing its GDP to debt ratio above 55%; impacting its credit rating, forcing new lenders to increase the interest rates for future projects.

In order to reduce energy cost & the upfront cost of investing in renewable energy, we have introduced rent-to-own financing for the farmers in Jowhar to pay off a 3kw solar irrigation within a 1yr: Increased irrigated area & number of farmers by 120%
We have provided practical training for Somalia " how to convert animal waste to biogas" for cleaning cooking and fertilizers; investing youth and awareness to combat desertification.

Qatar initial stop at Somaliland was seen as pivoting from Somalia, but I think it’s beyond pivoting:
Qatar's goal is to restore its image as a peacemaker since it was accused of undermining Somalia's instability through Fahad Yasin.
It's possible that Qatar would request @musebihi to allow them to mediate Somaliland & Somalia talks and promise that @M_Farmaajo will not return, this will lift the Farmaajo economic embargo against Somaliland. One would ask how that is going to happen? 2/n
The Qatari delegate met with some of the opposition leaders in Mogadishu declaring that they already cut ties with Fahad and won't fund the Farmaajo election. In addition, Qatar promised to open a diplomatic mission in Hargeysa and bring Qatar Airways

improved and strengten Hiiraan admin, but chose to bring AMISOM and insecurity ensued to date. Similarly, @HESharifShAhmed dissolved #BenadirState admin and paved his successors to abuse Mogadishu citizens who are taxed without representation. Rather redeem his political mistakes
He is against #BenadirState to have 13 senators and included in the electoral process, but ok Somaliland & Gedo to be included who don't pay god damn taxes- worse an Ethiopian @KhadarGulaid & Hashi Senate leader are unconstitutionally given a power to select Somaliland MPs.
