I have apparently pissed off some powerful people with my tweets about Atlantis

For a bit my account was locked. i have done nothing offensive. This TV show has misrepresented archaeologists and scholars. If some lawyer asks me, I can prove it

i'm not sure why someone's wife decided to write a 20 tweet thread about me, with the first tweet about my who my dad was

Atlantis is just not real

if you really want to make a documentary about Atlantis, and cant even ask your experts about their opinions about Atlantis

then you are misleading them

report me. yes, you are misleading them. even if you told them your show is called "chasing Atlantis"

they told you before hand that they didn't believe in Atlantis. You chose not to discuss your theories with them

you tell them that you just want to share real science with an interested public

no, you don't

because you edit them, you clip them out, and then you use their real science and explain it as support for some bullshit conspiracy theory

so fucking bring it...

so, i dunno. i got under people's skin clearly. a lot of money was behind #HuntingAtlantis

and yeah, i'm sorry to break it. it's not real. there is no Atlantis. There is no real archaeologist who is "hunting for Atlantis"

us archaeologists prefer to share real archaeology

so i don't care if @morgan_freeman is promoting this show. I love morgan freeman as an actor

I'm glad he met Andrew Wallace-Hadrill at Pompeii. I'm glad he cares about climate change

but Atlantis is not real history. It's not real archaeology

either we trust experts or we don't

i'm glad my account is apparently back... but i've said nothing offensive, i've said nothing that is a lie. all hte quotes i have from scholars that appeared on a "documentary" were real

*it wasn't a documentary. it was pseudoarchaeology

I have been on TV. I'd obviously be happy to be on TV again. But I'd also be happy if my friends and colleagues who show up on TV aren't misrepresented and misled
