INR.100 #crore - Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS)- It includes foreign training, international competition, equipment and coaching camp besides monthly stipend of Rs. 50,000/- for each athlete.
The Scheme currently supports 104 TOPS Core Group athletes across 13 sports disciplines & Hockey (M & W) teams and 269 TOPS Development Group athletes across 12 sports disciplines.

Under this scheme, the government wishes to develop a strong-rooted sporting culture in India right from the grassroots level.
The Khelo India Youth Games and the Khelo India University Games are a part of the Khelo India programme.
This scheme majorly works to identify potential talents in the high priority sports and then provides them with financial assistance ranging from INR.5 lakh to INR.8 lakh per annum.
INR. 7600 crores - National Centre of Excellence (NCOE) - Under this each centre of excellence is designated funds for four to six selected sports.
The @Media_SAI Promotional Schemes have been established by SAI across its 273 sports centers in the country.While the NSTC and ABSC schemes are for sub-junior trainees, the STC and SAG are for junior-level trainees and the COX is reserved for senior-level athletes.

The #school curriculums still have tiny space for sports. Indian mentality goes on with the saying, “Kheloge kundoge toh banoge kharab, padhoge likhoge toh banoge nawab.”
This means that those who focus on sports are not valued, but those who are only focused on studies excel. With such a mentality, how can India expect to compete with nations like #China, the #USA, the #UK etc in the #Olympics?
