For those of us who do not have the family & friends to financially support our study abroad plan, scholarships are our go-to plan.

If Canada is your destination, these are 10 Canadian scholarships you should not miss every year

Applications are open now, apply pressure

1) Uni of Saskatchewan International Dean's Scholarship bit.ly/2YTlaE1

Value: Up to $36,000 for Masters and $66,000 for PhD
Deadline: Nov 30 and Feb 1

FunFact: I got this directly from Nigeria, many international students are awarded yearly, you can get it too.
2) Uni of Saskatchewan Graduate Scholarship bit.ly/3hiTBNP

Value: $32,000 for Masters, $60,000 for PhD
Deadline: Feb yearly

3) Uni of Manitoba Graduate Fellowship bit.ly/2KuyDzC

Value: Up to $28,000 for Masters; $72,000 for PhD
Deadline: To Be Decided (TBD).
4) Uni of Alberta Master's Entrance Scholarship bit.ly/2KF85vh

Value: Up to $27,500 ($17,500 stipend and $10,000 for other fees).
Deadline: TBD

5) Uni of Toronto Ontario graduate Scholarship bit.ly/3ppLDVR

Value: Up to $15,000
Deadline: Jan - April yearly
6) McGill Uni Weston Fellowship bit.ly/2M3eD7m

Value: Up to $19,000
Deadline: TBD for 2021-22

7) McMaster Uni Graduate Scholarships bit.ly/3nUbAwj

Value: Full-time Tuition + $13,500

9) University of Toronto - Other School of Graduate Studies Award. bit.ly/3mQ0M0P

10) Queen's University School of Graduate Studies Funding. bit.ly/2M3v7cR

Value: Minimum $18,000/year for up to 4 years
Additional $5,000 for incoming international PhD students.
Some of these scholarships (like Num 1 and 2) do not even require separate applications. You are automatically considered/nominated after applying for admission

Prepare and submit a strong admission document and you are good to go

How it started vs How it’s going.

This day 6 years ago, I came to Canada on a 2-year study permit

With $650 in my pocket, I had many questions in my head & high aspirations

I later became a permanent resident before the 2-year visa expired

…the rest like they say is history! ImageImage
I can’t believe I’ve spent up to 6 years in this country.

I also can’t believe I’ve spent just 6 years in this country...If you know what I mean

Everything looks so long, yet so short, but today is not for stories, it is for giving thanks

It’s been an amazing ride!

No matter where you’re from, your dreams are valid!

And that’s what this country has done for many of us who came with 2 checked in bags and one carry on

Thank you Canada for the countless opportunities

We will continue to play our part to make the country better for everyone!

If you’re looking for a country where you can easily get an admission, consider UK

If you’re looking for a country where you have better scholarship options, consider US

If you’re looking for a country where you have better chances of getting a foreign passport, consider Canada
If getting a scholarship is a big part of your study abroad plans, and getting one in Canada is looking elusive, you can work out a smart plan

Consider the US as a study destination, and work towards your Canadian Permanent Residence application from there.

That’s a smart plan.
In the UK, you will easily get an admission if you have your money. A low undergraduate grade will also not be a huge barrier compared to Canada.

And just like the US, and any other country where you have a valid status, you can apply for Canadian permanent residence from UK too

Canada’s international students population will increase tremendously from 2021.

The relationship between the country and the students is a mutually beneficial one.

And the value the students bring is needed in the post-pandemic economy. So win-win for both sides.

Get ready!
- In the last 10 years, the international students population in Canada has increased by over 154%.

- International students contribute so much to the economy. In 2018 they contributed $22 billion to Canada's GDP and supported over 170,000 jobs.
- 96% of the International students will recommend Canada as a study destination.

- 60% of the international students in Canada plan to apply for permanent residence.

- As of December 31, 2019, there were already 642, 480 international students in Canada.
