A note: everything about last night, from the unreasonable amount of cops responding to the "de-escalation" language used on the scanner indicate to me that SPD was very focused on how they APPEARED last night. Keep that in mind.

Also note that this is LAST NIGHT, starting 8:18pm September 8th.

"No, it's gonna be Broadway and Union to the north. There's about 7 unattended vehicles in the turn lane."

"Where are they?"

(BEEPS)(dispatch) "Help the officer, 200 block, broadway east"

"In custody, under control. Slow everybody down, no additional units."

"Charlie 2, we got one in custody, under control, disregard" (cont)

(cont)"George22, start a lincoln, expidite please, I'll take one or two more units please. Start fire, he's saying he can't breath."

There's multiple people in the background of this call. Unclear what they are saying, but it's variations on "Is he (the person arrested) okay!?!"

[8:26:33] "George 22, step it up please, we've got 50 people watching"

[8:28:32] "Edward 1, george 12, george 3, you guys are there, yes?"

"(???), yes"

"3 george have those west units step it up up here"

[8:30:38] "George 22, for those coming in, do not block broadway. Leave a lane for fire."

"Units need to keep a lane open for fire. Metro has been advised to re route, lincoln is on the way."

[8:31:02] "3 george, I'm gonna need probably a couple more units up here in addition to the west. I'm gonna need to facilitate a push to get this crowd back."

[8:31:33] "And just for the CAD, I've got probably about 100 hostiles that are on the west side, and on the opposite side of the street I got about 30."

[8:32:26] "I can go to that as well, if one of the queen sector units want to clear, I'm probably closer."

"Nope, just everyone, please. 200 block, broadway east, and step it up."

"3john on east air, I'm going to be coming into the area, is there a safe avenue of approach?"

Massive commotion in background. Someone yells "FUCK".

[8:53:10] "Again, all taskforce need to respond to the 200 block of broadway east"

Repeated again on west, north, and south frequencies

[8:53:32][west] "3king, copy. West taskforce, go pick up your hats and bats at the precinct, and stand by for a rally point."

[8:54:06][east] "3charlie to the units on scene, we're gonna start facilitating a pullback from this location. As soon as fire leaves the area, the next step that we're gonna do is move the suspect vehicle a few blocks to the south to gather the crowd, and then I'm gonna (cont)

cont "give the order to pull out completely."

[8:54:53] "To whatever officer is on scene, the last unmarked PIU that doesn't have a lightbar needs to move, it's in the middle of the intersection"

[8:55:34] "3 charlie, we're facilitating getting the suspect vehicle moved to the east precinct. I need whoever is in the south center car to move their patrol car ASAP"

[8:58:29] "3 charlie. For the officers on scene, we have a 2 part exit strategy. As soon as the fire rig leaves, patrol is stage 1, when I give the order they're going to vacate the area. CRG will stay in place to monitor the retreat, and then one of the lieutenants for CRG(cont)

[8:59:17] "I'm sorry, who do you need at the east precinct?"

"The tow...for this location...respond to the east precinct instead"

[9:02:59] "3 charlie. They're starting to load the suspect into the ambulance. Can I get patrol units back to their vehicles, and start the process of exiting?"

[9:03:52] "P94E. Clearing UN470, all of the vehicles have moved, except the one that is unnocupied by a driver, but has a bunch of children, underage, kids...little babies...I'm wondering if a patrol officer could come by?" (cont)

(dispatch)"Uh, we're on priority calls. Is there an emergency there? (pause) So there's children, unattended, in a running car, at broadway and union?(pause) P94E, is that what you're saying?"

"The father has come back to the vehicle, and is moving the vehicle, thank you."

[9:05:29]"David 11. Who is the unit who had the vehicle to be towed, and where's it at currently?"

[9:10:34]"CRG2 to adam80, or the 8 adams...could you do that for us?"

[9:11:14]"CRG2 to Radio. Just so you know, there's probably a group of (number) marching southbound on Broadway."

"CRG1, can you let the east precinct know? We're gonna disengage with the de-escelation tactics, the farther away we get from them the better."

"CRG 1, go ahead"

"I think the situation has resolved itself as best as possible. I wasn't sure if you still had the city on priority one calls only?" (cont)

(cont) "...they are, we're not supposed to...talk about it on the air...do you want to call our supervisor?"

"I'm gonna call car 87. I think that was the duty captain's callsign, correct?"

Not being able to talk about it on the air, so far as I know, is a new thing.

[9:14:44] "8 adam. I'll go get eyes on them."

"Okay. And lincoln is at the precinct, whoever needed to meet them out there, please."

[9:16:01]"Media 4. I'm no longer in the area, but will you please show that I arrived on that call at broadway?"

"884? I don't show you logged in"

"Oh, MEDIA 4. okay."

[9:19:45] "233, info. Looks like we have a group of (number) eastbound on pine, approaching the east precinct on the 1000 block"

"Units need to initiate a lockdown over at the east precinct, bring your patrol car into the building, PLEASE. East clerk, do you copy?"

[9:22:19]"Car 87, I think we can just keep the officers away from them, just de-escelate that way. If lincoln needs assistance, we'll do it then."

"8 adam, you're monitoring correct"

"Yeah, I can move them to the sidewalk if the leadership would like"

"Yes, I think we need to move them to the sidewalk."

"I need additional resources. Only 4 officers"

[9:39:36] "3 charlie. I'm gonna need any unit that had physical contact with the subject to return to the precinct, upload their bodycam, and fill out a type 1 for me."

[9:40:15]"And east clerk, it looks like the group has moved about half a block north of the precinct. Not quite up to the POV entrance, but they're kinda grouping together there."

[9:48:04]"And east clerk, shy of (number) people still on the northwest corner. Looks like the crowd has left, (direction) on (street)"

I stayed on until 10:45pm, and at least up to that point, there were no further relevant calls.
