1. Create an exact list of the job's tasks.

Be specific.

Don't just say "content marketing."

Say "Write 1-2 blog posts a week."

For example, here's a list of tasks for an editor role he was looking to fill 👇
2. Write an AMAZING job description.

Bad job listings attract bad candidates. Great ones attract great candidates.

Describe a job you'd apply for or recommend to a friend.

Here's an outline of things to consider when writing the description, based on what Noah did with his 👇
3. Give applicants a simple challenge to complete.

This will filter out bad candidates.

When @noahkagan challenged applicants for an editor job to find spelling mistakes on a LinkedIn profile, 35% of applicants failed.
4. Create specific instructions for the challenge.

Eliminate anyone who doesn't follow them.

This is another easy way to thin the herd of applicants.
5. Narrow down remaining applicants to a handful and give them a real task to do.

With specific instructions.

And a deadline.

Have it be a task they'll have to do often if hired.
6. Do a video call or meet face to face.

Consider whether this person will help you get closer to your overall goal.

Or not.

1. Start with a story.

There’s no better way to capture attention.

Research found if you share a story, your audience shares the emotions of the characters and is likely to mimick the feelings and behaviors of those characters after the story ends.
2. Get to the point.

The less time it takes someone to “get” your idea, the more likely they embrace it.

A strong idea isn’t one which you can say a lot about, it’s one which you can convey WITHOUT saying a lot about it.

I’ve already made $1,000 from my free newsletter today.

And it’s only been 7 hours since I sent it.

Here’s how that happened…
I made $500 from the five ads I sell in my newsletter.

I made $480 from four people who bought annual subscriptions to This Is How I Do It for $120 each.

I made $30 from two people who bought “single” issues of This Is How I Do It for $15 each.

The takeaway is…
You can make good money from a “free” newsletter.

But your newsletter’s got to good.

It helps to have multiple products at different price points to offer.

Your products must deliver value and your audience must trust you.

It takes time (this was issue 273 for me).
