'De Cordova was vilified for meeting feminists who’ve formed the Labour Women’s Declaration on sex-based rights & for declining to address Stonewall’s conference fringe meeting..
Starmer must choose a shadow equalities minister ready to defend women..... thetimes.co.uk/article/fd1ec9…
....Then he must defend her.
Because there’s a new political slogan in town: “If you don’t respect my sex, you can’t expect to get my X" '
Well said @VictoriaPeckham
We just took a look at @BarrySheerman's twitter. His tweets frequently get fewer than 10 likes, and it's unusual for them to get to 100. His support tweet for @RosieDuffield1 is on 3.9k likes and rising. Politicians - there are votes in this. #WomenWontWheesht
The problem of gender identitarian intolerance isn't confined to any one part of Labour. Parliamentarians across the party need to stand firm and insist that rights conflicts are discussed respectfully. That's the only way we'll make progress - and it's a vote-winner. #SexMatters
@VictoriaPeckham reports, "Next election the question to trip up every politician won’t be on social care or immigration, but: "What is a woman?"..Get your answer sorted, because women are watching..And, boy, are they angry...women are half the electorate" #SexMatters@UKLabour

Time to end the silence on women's rights. A thread. #DontBeADavey
This morning @AndrewMarr9 asked @EdwardJDavey repeatedly "What is wrong with the phrase woman - adult human female?". Davey couldn't even bring himself to say the word 'woman' in response.
Asked about a real woman in his party - @Nat_freespeech who's been banned from standing for any LibDem position - Davey made no response. Still he could only repeat the thought-terminating cliches and mantras taught to him by Stonewall. crowdjustice.com/case/natalie-b…
This is what erasure looks like. Asked a question about women, or a question about a particular woman, too many politicians dissemble and take refuge in cliches about trans rights. The language we use to name ourselves is being lost, and with it, the ability to discuss our lives.
Andrew Marr: "What's wrong with this phrase? Woman - adult human female?" Ed Davey: "LibDems believe that trans rights are really important because trans people are some of the most discriminated against in our society."
The question was about WOMEN.
Marr re-states his question "what's wrong with woman- adult human female?"
Davey: "I've made it clear what our position is on trans rights, no-one can criticise me for that".
Bampots who can't even say the word 'woman' should not be in politics.
Davey goes on to talk about the 'toxic' debate. It's not a culture war that has toxified this debate - it's the misrepresentation of anyone wanting to talk about women's rights, and shouting us down as bigots and transphobes.
'Hoyle said: “Parliamentarians, who have been elected to speak up for their constituents, should be able to attend their own party conference without fear of harm. Too many people have been targeted for their opinion or the office they hold. In order to... thetimes.co.uk/article/703159…
..protect democracy, we need to ensure those participating can do so without threats of intimidation.”...(Duffield) believes we should be worried that so many young females are turning their backs on being a woman to become non-binary.
“Why are women so desperate to divorce...
...themselves from everything they associate with being female?” she said. “Why are they so uncomfortable? Why is it such a terrible place to be? These are questions that need answering and need to be discussed sensibly. It certainly rings massive alarm bells for people like me..
On the day it's officially announced that there's an “epidemic” re violence against women & girls (There are 1.6 million victims of domestic abuse & crimes like stalking, voyeurism & online abuse where eight out of 10 victims are women or girls), @UKLabour deputy leader.. 1/
.@AngelaRayner (in the absence of a yet to be appointed Shadow Minister for Women & Equalities) opts to ignore this damning report but instead focuses on spurious, un-evidenced reporting of a journalist who has been found wanting re his reporting 2/
@AngelaRayner launches into evidence free hyperbole about the abuse & discrimination of the trans community. No such public support against the much evidenced abuse & discrimination LP women members endure, including Chair of Women’s PLP, Rosie Duffield.3/ labourwomensdeclaration.org.uk/news/the-silen…
If last night's @HolyroodDaily Political Awards are anything to go by, standing up for women's sex-based rights, and being unafraid to say that #SexMatters is a vote-winner. Thread on some of the highlights. holyrood.com/news/view,joha…
@JohannLamont, worthy winner of MSP Of the Year. "Johann has been a consistent advocate for the rights of women and girls throughout her parliamentary career". Listen to her proposing #SixWords here, and skip to 24 mins in for her blistering summing-up.
@joannaccherry took Best Scot at Westminster. She's applied her forensic intellect to defending women's rights and pointing out why #SexMatters in public and private life. Hear her eloquent IWD speech - who else could sum the issues up in 3 minutes?
@LRCinfo are "preparing the Labour movement for power". We hope they're not holding their breath. This attack on women defending our rights will drive women away from Labour. We call on them to step away from the slogans and talk to us. #LabourLosingWomen
"We don’t believe the oppression of women derives primarily from our biology". The people at @LRCinfo seem confused. The social and political factors they refer to are part of the history of the appropriation of women's reproductive labour - i.e. sex-based oppression.
"Statistics and personal testimony make clear that trans people suffer appalling violence at home and on the streets and discrimination at work." We oppose violence and discrimination against trans people. Our declaration is about women's rights. labourwomensdeclaration.org.uk
