63 days ago, I decided to hit reset on a year's worth of bad habits.

I'm going to get vulnerable here, but I'm happy to be in a positive place while writing.

Hopefully, this story will connect and help someone who reads it.

2021 seemed like it was a good year for me:

- Successful career
- A lot of time with my family

But not everything was great:

- Struggling with depression

When I turned 30, I was a mess.

- Ate garbage
- Working an entry level job
- Spent weekends at the bar

And my wife was expecting our first kid.

I knew it was time for a change.
I cut down my drinking before our first kid, but not enough.

Before our first kid turned one, I got drunk, went on a bike ride, crashed and broke my elbow.

This created more work for my wife, as my ability to help was limited.
We had our second kid 18 months later.

He had a heart condition that required heart surgery within a month of being born.

This was a wake-up call.

I realized I needed to become a different person.
