🔴 BREAKING: Labour conference delegates expelled for being Socialist Appeal supporters 🔴
Scandalously, a number of delegates to Labour Party conference have been expelled from the party just a day ahead of the start of conference.
The reason for their expulsion is their support for Socialist Appeal.
Evidence used to justify these expulsions include: membership of a public Facebook group which has thousands of members; taking photos at public meetings; and even just being interviewed by Socialist Appeal!
The fact this is occurring just before the conference kicks off clearly shows this is a deliberate act of gerrymandering by Starmer and the right wing to get rid of socialist delegates.
They know they can’t beat the left in a fair fight. As usual, they are resorting to brazenly bureaucratic methods to try and tip the balance of forces on the conference floor.
This again shows the complete contempt Starmer and his Blairite cronies have for the members. These delegates were democratically-elected by their CLPs to represent rank-and-file members at conference.
But for the ‘crime’ of being staunch socialists and unapologetic Marxists they have been expelled.
This follows on from the barring of Socialist Appeal journalists from Labour conference.
As with all previous Labour conferences, Socialist Appeal editorial board members Rob Sewell and Adam Booth applied for press access. But this year they were denied approval on political grounds - told that they ‘do not share Labour’s aims and values!
Meanwhile, reactionary rags such as the Sun and the Daily Mail will be allowed in, no questions asked!
We call on grassroots activists across the labour movement to denounce these attacks on democracy and press freedoms, and to mobilise at conference this week to take the fight to the right.
For those in Brighton tomorrow (or watching online), come meet the Marxists that Starmer hates at the Socialist Appeal fringe meeting: ‘Why are they really banning us?’

The #OprahMeghanHarry interview has exposed the monarchy for the decrepit institution that it is. #AbolishTheMonarchy is currently trending, showing the anger that people feel towards this rotten relic. But why do we still have a monarchy? And how do we get rid of it? [A THREAD]
In this article from last year, we analysed the so-called 'Megxit' crisis, when Meghan and Harry took their first steps on the path to 'financial independence'. We noted that this dispute merely reflects the crisis at the heart of the British monarchy.
As we explained, "The British monarchy has always acted as window dressing for the rule of the bosses. The pomp and ceremony of the institution... are supposed to inspire awe and reverence... the state, as the repressive tool of class rule, [is] given some kind of “dignity”.
#RedArchives - To kick off this week's theme of 'revolutionary women', we re-publish this article from 2018 on the Dagenham machinists' strike of 1968, an event which became a turning point in the fight for equality. #IWD2021#IWD#Marxism#Socialism
The Dagenham strike was not the first such strike, and it would certainly not be the last. However, by standing up against bosses, union officials, and even other workers, they would send a message that has stood the test of time and inspires still. #IWD2021#IWD#Strike
Leaked plans revealed that the Labour party leadership are seeking to 'rebrand' the party along 'patriotic' lines. With Starmer's approval ratings falling, the right think that cloaking themselves in Union flag bunting will win back the 'red wall'. [A THREAD]
As we have explained, this flag-waving rhetoric is doomed to fail: "Rather than lulling ‘Red Wall’ voters back to Labour, it plays straight into the hands of [the Tories], who will have no qualms about pulling politics even further to the right." #Starmer
What's the logical conclusion of this reheated Blairism? "The result will not be to gain the Labour Party votes, but to embolden nationalists and xenophobes, leading to a ramping up of attacks on migrants, of racism, and of imperialist military adventures."
