It took me 30 days to get my first 1,200 followers.

Then 21 days to get to 3,000.
But I learned the hard way…

That “good value”…

SUCKS when it comes to getting you followers.

But you still have to tweet it.
Because without it.. your account dies.

>>> A Thread 🧵 <<<
First - context:

My account is on Twitter since 2013.
That’s why many don’t believe this:

My first tweet was on August 6th.
That’s 51 days ago.

And it got 0 likes.
Zero replies.
Nothing. Crickets.

It’s painful when you feel like you’re talking to a wall.

But then…
Slowly I started figuring things out.

People suggested to…
• Do paid ads
• Pay for Retweets
• Beg big accounts for RTs

I didn’t do any of those.
100% of my growth here has been organic.

Not a penny spent.
No “small letters”. All clean.

So how did I do it?
Well.
I noticed a pattern.

My tweets got no impressions. (Nobody saw them).

So…
The only logical way to get followers would be…

To borrow eyeballs 👀 from big accounts.

But the game changed once I hit 1,000 followers.

So read this:
If you want to grow from 0 to 1,000 use this thread:

Hundreds of people on Twitter said this is THE BEST thread on how to grow from zero.

Read it.

But if you wanna know how to fly past the 1,000 followers…

Read the next tweet.
So I call the 1,000 followers mark the tipping point.

That’s when you can stop using the technique I described in the previous thread…

And instead…

You can just start tweeting. Because you now have enough of your own eyeballs…

But what do you tweet about? 👇
You see… I thought tweeting value is the way to go.

But I was wrong.

Because most of the value I tweet gets me few to zero followers.

Weird right?
And annoying.

But that’s just how it is.
And I’ll tell you why it works like that:
See. There are two kinds of tweets.

1. Value tweets.
Those bring no followers.

2. Fishing tweets.
Small value. But loads of followers.

Let me tell you what I’m talking about..
And show you some real-life examples from my profile.

Here’s a value tweet:
This got 44,472 impressions. A lot.
But got me few followers.

But how the hell do I know that?

Look at the “profile clicks”.
50.

Means even if 100% of the profile visits clicked follow… I’d only have 50.

From a tweet that got 44K impressions!!!

Crazy. But see this: Image
This tweet would be called “crappy” be any person…

Who doesn’t understand this concept.

but it’s a “fishing” tweet.

Take a look.
Only 3,014 impressions.
Awful.

But 206 profile clicks.
So potentially 206 followers.

From a 3K impressions tweet!

But why does it work that way? Image
What’s the difference between the two?

Without going into too much detail…

One is more entertainment-driven… and the other is more curiosity-driven.

You see..
When I tweet…

I know how good a tweet will do.
I know if it’ll bring me more followers.

So why do I tweet both?
Because if you only tweet “fishing” tweets…

Your audience will slowly start ignoring you…

They will engage less.
You will have less authority.
Less people will remember your name.

That’s why you need both.

So how do you tweet “fishing tweets”?
Anything that creates curiosity about you…

Is a fishing tweet.

See? No value there.
But…

Curiosity makes people click to see your profile.

It’s as if they’re “adding you to cart” and some will buy (follow).

Here’s how:
Talk about yourself.
Say something weird.
Or interesting.

Anything that would make a person wanna go “who’s that? I need to check”.

But don’t go overboard.

So how do you find those tweets? It’s simple. Just get a calculator out.

Here’s how:
Step 1: tweet something.

Step 2: divide the number of profile clicks by the number of impressions.

Step 3: write down or remember this number.

Step 4: tweet again.

Step 5: divide again.

Step 6: compare.

You know what’ll happen after 50 tweets?
You’ll immediately notice a pattern.

You’ll see what kind of tweets bring you followers.

Then all you have to do is rephrase them. Again and again and again.

Or tweet something similar.
Be creative here.

But don’t forget…
Tweet value too. Don’t let your account die.

And…
Follow @GrammarHippy

But…
Make sure…

You notice which ones are his value tweets…

And which are “fishing tweets”.

And then?
STEAL IT FROM HIM!

Just kidding.
Get what works and model it.

But follow @GrammarHippy 😆
Make sure you understand…

The difference between “value tweets” that get no followers…

And “fishing tweets” that get loads of followers…

Before you continue tweeting.

Use these 4 words to sell anything.

It’s called “the 2-question close”

This works perfectly for people who suck at sales. Like me 👇
I’ve used this 2-question close to sell anything I needed to.

And while it’s not a “full system” that you’d want if you’re selling professionally…

It’s more than enough if you need a “quick fix”.

Are you ready?
Question 1: why me?

Let the prospect talk.
Don’t interrupt.

He’s gonna give you 50% of the ammunition you need to close.

When he’s done talking…
Ask the next question:

I walked into our office with a huge smile on my face.

My investor was already there.
Looking unhappy.

Apparently it was about a message I sent the night before.

This is not a story about investors.

This is a story of how we broke Facebook and made $67,000 in one day 👇
This is the message I sent him the night before:

“We hit $4,000/day. I’m so happy. It’s a dream come true”.

You see… I’ve never made that much money in a whole month at the time.

And now I made it in ONE DAY.
So I was happy.

But he wasn’t.
Here’s what he told me:
“I’m very disappointed. You think $4K/day is the dream? I guess I should’ve invested in someone else”.

It felt like a knife.
Slicing through everything I ever believed in.

“But it’s freaking FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS. In ONE DAY” - I protested.

He wasn’t convinced.

Become the James Bond of copywriting…

Using a sneaky little trick…
Which includes…

• Stealing
• Copying
• Bashing

Without feeling guilty.

>>> A Thread 🧵 <<<
You probably already know the saying…

New copywriters write.

While experienced copywriters assemble.

But…

Even experienced copywriters get this wrong more often than they’d like to admit.

And it all starts with one word:
Competition.

Now.
If you ask a newbie what competition is?

You’ll get a danger sign blipping in their brain.

For them?
Competition = red ocean = stay away

But…
They don’t even understand competition.

Hell.
They can’t even say who their competitors are.

Can you? 👇

The number one MISTAKE Gumroad creators are guilty of…

Which could double their sales when fixed…

And it’s…
Drums…

The first button on their sales page.
Lemme tell you why.

>>> A Thread 🧵 <<<
Here are some numbers for you.

I am running cold traffic from FB ads.

Our checkout page conversion rate over all funnels is 40-60%.

People on Twitter posting their conversion rates being 2-10%.

How is that possible?!

Good question.
Get this:
Having a button at the top of your page is almost like having an exit button there.

Pretty much same numbers.

But why do I say that?
In order to understand…

Copywriting gurus are lying to you.

They say “use benefits not features”.

They are WRONG.
And because of their dusty by-the-book-techniques…

Your conversion rates suffer.

>>> A Thread 🧵 <<
This is not a click bait.
I mean it.

They’re wrong.
Let me explain why.
But before…

Let’s understand what features are…

And what benefits are…

Simply put:
Features

A list of things that are part of your product or service.

For example:

My service is copywriting.

Features:

• I write quickly
• I write persuasively
• I know how to do research

Those are benefits.

How to sell air (information) on Twitter using copywriting...

>>> A Thread 🧵 <<<
There are many elements to selling online.

- Scarcity
- Proof
- Testimonials
- Hooks
- Stories

And a lot of others.

But there's one nobody is talking about...

And if you're not able to sell...
It's most likely this one is missing:
And it's "value".

“vALuE?” You say with disgust. “That’s NOT my problem.”

I know. I know.
But…

When you’re selling air… erm… I mean… “information”…

A person can get the same information on YouTube for free - generally speaking. Right?
