The first of these tweets from expelled UNDP country manager for Ethiopia, Dr Kwesi Sansculotte-Greenidge (@KSansculotteG) raises interesting questions.
This false statement is the opening sentence of background.
"On 4 Nov. 2020 the Govt. of Ethiopia launched a military offensive against the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF), this was followed by attacks on the Northern Command of the ENDF by the TPLF on the same day."
On 17th June (two days before Kwesi's Tweet) the page was corrected and a new one was created. But the old page is still live. inquiry.achpr.org/background-3/.
Why the old page remains in place is a mystery.
The commission was established on 12th May. Is based in Gambia and hasn't published anything yet.
Details here >> inquiry.achpr.org/resolution/
The website with the mistake seems to be redundant & abandoned. There are two statements on the ACHPR website from shortly after the beginning of the war, both of which describe the origins of the war correctly.
There is also an apology on the video which was used to announce the commission. It was uploaded on June 26th .
A special hashtag for the commission #COITIGRAY reveals reactions to the establishment. Nobody was happy.
] and the fact that the initial video of the announcement of #COITIGRAY was deleted () and replaced we can discern that @remyngol repeated this faux pas in the press conference.
@remyngol The press conf. took place on 17th June. In French. I would appreciate it if a French speaker could listen to the full press conference to ascertain what @Remnygol said. It is clear though that the the GoE objected to the establishment of the commission.
The press conference created a furore, which led eventually to the corrections to the website and video. But it appears that there was a difference of opinion over claims that the Govt of Ethiopia had agreed to its establishment.
The first shows that the Govt. is objecting to the inquiry the other three are quotations from the establishment documents of the inquiry - which claim consent was given by Abiy to its establishment. inquiry.achpr.org/#background
Later in the evening of the 19th @KSansculotteG posted his last tweet for the dat. This is the one that began this thead - the erroneous quotation from the inquiry page which claims that the Ethiopian Govt. attacked first. inquiry.achpr.org/elementor-536/
Clearly this was provocative.
And if you review @KSansculotteG's feed you will see that the senior liason officer for @UNEthiopia was fairly consistently posting provocative tweets. But there is another special thing about the establishment of this HR inquiry which appears to have caught GoE by surprise.
Timing.
Not only was the achpr's inquiry team head seemingly unaware of the fact that the TPLF attacked first, but the inquiry was launched four days before the Ethiopian Elections on June 21st, and it claimed it had GoE consent.
No wonder the Govt. was upset.
But there is a kicker in all of this - it is alleged privately that @KSansculotteG was also the person who leaked the audio of the meeting with his colleagues about concerns over evidence of rape being used as a weapon.
Question is. Does this constitute meddling in internal affairs?
Finally there is another issue of timing.
We know now that during this period - the lead up to the election - TPLF launched its offensive to retake Mekelle. Given his position it is entirely plausible that @KSansculotteG knew this. Making his provocations even more serious.

@JemalCountess@AnnGarrison Baltimore's @JemalCountess is on a field reporting trip to Ethiopia's Amhara Region which was invaded by TPLF forces in mid July, and parts of which remain occupied by their forces today.
In this IV he talks about the war, the occupation of UNESCO World Heritage site Lalibela...
@JemalCountess@AnnGarrison .. the 1 million+ traumatised IDPs in South Gondar Amhara Region and their horror over U.S. support for the TPLF.
IDP witnesses stories about what is happening in Lalibela are chilling. Lalibela has been fortified like Monte Casino was in WWII.
Cyclone Shaheen-Gulab (meaning: Falcon-Rose) is making landfall in Oman right now. In this animation we can see how its outflows are bringing rain to the Horn of Africa.
Two animations follow showing the development of Shaheen-Gulab over the past 48 hours, into what looks like a well organised powerful storm. This animation begins on Friday night and runs for 24 hours.
And this one starts yesterday afternoon and runs till about half an hour ago. #ArabianStorms [@Arab_Storms]

A week ago this video was released oh what appears to be a graduation parade for OLA fighters. The OLA announced a military alliance with TPLF in August. google.fr/amp/s/www.voan…
This has got to be the worst propaganda video ever. Especially the bit where you can hear someone screaming in the background as if they are being tortured.
The Generals all look really sad. And they keep apologising to the parents of all the dead.
.@AsstSecStateAF Mary Phee. This is the military leadership of the TPLF. They are on their last legs.
This war will soon be over and the IC needs to be in a position to help with what comes next. Sanctioning Ethiopia for ridding itself of a secessionist rebellion will not help.
