#Yamunotri dham forms one of the four Chota Char Dham pilgrimage sites , dedicated to mata Yamuna. The second most holy river of India, Yamuna originates at Yamunotri. It is the abode of goddess.
The daughter of the Sun god, Surya and consciousness, Sangya the birthplace of the Yamuna is the #Champasar Glacier (4,421 m) just below the #Banderpoonch Mountain.The mountain adjacent to the river source is dedicated to her father, and is called Kalind Parvat.

The temple closes right after the festival of Diwali in winter the temple is temporary shifted to #Kharsali since the entire region is covered with snow due to very high elevation. The priests of Yamunotri are householders Brahmin of the #Uniyal caste.

भाद्रपद मास के शुक्ल पक्ष की चतुर्दशी को #अनंत चतुर्दशी का पर्व मनाया जाता है. चतुर्दशी के दिन भगवान विष्णु के अनंत रूपों की उपासना की जाती है.14 गांठों वाला रक्षा सूत्र बांह में बांधा जाता है. कहते हैं कि गांठे 14 लोकों का प्रतिनिधित्व करते हैं.
ऐसी मान्यता है कि जब पाण्डव जुए में अपना सारा राज-पाट हारकर वन में कष्ट भोग रहे थे, तब भगवान श्रीकृष्ण ने उन्हें अनंत चतुर्दशी का व्रत करने की सलाह दी थी. धर्मराज युधिष्ठिर ने अपने भाइयों तथा द्रौपदी के साथ पूरे विधि-विधान से यह व्रत किया तथा अनंत सूत्र धारण किया.
हिंदू धर्म की मान्‍यताओं के अनुसार, इस दिन महिलाएं अपने बाएं हाथ पर और पुरुष अपने दाएं हाथ पर अनंत बांधते हैं यह अनंत सूत्र दीर्घ आयु और अनंत जीवन का प्रतीक माना जाता है।
गणेश चतुर्थी के दिन स्‍थापित किए गए गणपति का विसर्जन अनंत चतुर्दशी के दिन किया जाता है ।

#Gorumara National Park is located in the #Dooars region of the Himalayan foothills of #West Bengal.
Jaldhaka a Tributary ofBrahmaputra flows just beside the National Park.
In 1949 it was given a status of a wild life sanctuary. Later on it was declared as National Park in 1994
Gorumara has mixed vegetation of forest & grassland. It is famous for its good population of One Horned Indian #Rhino.
It serves as one of the best places to explore for both animal and nature lovers. This national park is the home to almost 50 species of mammals,
50 species of reptiles and amphibians and almost 300 species of birds. In recent years, there has been a major increase in the number of Elephants, Rhinos and Gaurs (Indian Bison).
The most popular tourist activity is the forest safari.

The temples of #Barakar is a fine example of ancient temple architecture found in #West Bengal . A dusty & congested  town in the midst of coal mines, Barakar boasts of a surprisingly majestic group of stone-built medieval temples of SHIKHAR or REKH-DEUL style.
The temple complex is known locally as “BEGUNIA” temples because of the similarity of the shapes of the temples with “BEGUN”(the fruit of the eggplant).There are altogether 4 temples in the complex. First two are typical REKH-DEUL style .
They were built around 1461 A.D, intricately decorated with geometric designs & idols of different Hindu Devi & devtas figures, as well as of some animal figures. There are 3 #Shivlings & an idol of Maa #Kali in the first mandir .
