1/ @Polkadot $DOT is launching their parachain auctions in November. What does this mean for @kusamanetwork $KSM in future? What are the different use cases and what is the master plan behind?

3/ #Dotsama $KSM $DOT is designed as a multi-chain ecosystem that bridges other blockchains and acts a patchwork of independent legal systems interacting with each other. To say it in Gavins words:

5/ But let's now switch over to understand differences between $DOT and $KSM and their need for each other in this #Dotsama ecosystem.
We start with @kusamanetwork $KSM

6/ $KSM is the canary network in the $DOT ecosystem. $KSM and $DOT share almost the same code, the same basic architecture: a multi-chain, heterogeneous shard design based on NPoS, on-chain governance, changeable runtimes for fork-free on-chain upgrades + cross-chain messaging

7/ But $KSM is different to $DOT. Basically $KSM allows faster upgrades (4times shorter referendums) this enables $KSM to adapt + grow faster than $DOT (shorter intervals between upgrades). The economic entry barriers for parachain implementation is much lower for teams

8/ So I see the use case for deploying on $KSM for innovative projects in areas such as governance, incentives, monetary policy and DAOs. $KSM is built as a risk-taking, fast-moving ‘canary in the coal mine’ for its cousin $DOT - sparking innovation!

9/ The successful launch of parachains on $KSM such as e.g. $MOVR has shown the high demand for a fast environment - $MOVR upgraded 4x in 1 month + the huge amount of deployed projects on $MOVR. I asked many teams about the future of their $KSM deployments - they are here to stay

10/ $DOT on the other hand is designed for industrial use case, $DOT focusses extremely on security + stability to fulfil high requirements from institutions such as governments, banks + enterprises: "bank-grade security + stability". Economic entry barriers for projects are high

11/ Many projects will have parachains on both $KSM and $DOT, some will stay on $KSM only, some leave it up for the governance to decide upon applying to for a $DOT parachain. E.g. one of the most anticipated projects in #Dotsama $KILT deploys on $KSM and clearly stated this.

12/ $KSM + $DOT can hold ~100 parachains each. The best is yet to come as @gavofyork stated on sub0 that EO 2021 the bridge between $KSM + $DOT will be established! A clear statement that this whole ecosystem is only complete with $KSM + $DOT

13/ Not to hold and support $DOT and $KSM with knowing what @Polkadot and @kusamanetwork are about to achieve will be regretted bitterly.
