Cyril Mychalejko: You have groups like Parents for Educational Liberty that are trying to "cleanse" educational curricula by removing works by people of color. This is why school board elections are so important.

Cyril Mychalejko: Candidates got on local public radio & said we need to "get over" slavery & go back to teaching that America is the greatest country again. They want to go back to the racial & gender wars of the 20th Century.

Cyril Mychalejko: Part of the problem is that the Republican party has been brainwashed & misinformed for years, incl via Facebook & Fox News. Finding weapons of mass destruction didn't happen; Obama isn't a Muslim.

Cyril Mychalejko: Public education is about grooming good citizens with critical thinking skills. The right wants to indoctrinate children. You can criticize our country while still loving it, & I don't think they understand that.
