Writing an ebook? Make it easy for your readers to promote it. Here's how.

Thread πŸ‘‡
When writing content, it can be helpful to include shareable assets β€” e.g. highlighted quotes, infographics, etc.
@stephsmithio did this in her ebook Doing Content Right and found that the quotes she featured in the book were tweeted far more than any other parts. And, of course, the more your content is tweeted, the more sales you're likely to make and the stronger your brand becomes.
So select quotes from your content that are short, smart, and punchy. Make the quotes visually stand out from the rest of the text. And add clear CTAs to share. Tools like clicktotweet make it easy to create the necessary links.

Want to know the secret to getting stuff done quickly? In a recent interview, @stephsmithio shared how she crossed $130K with an ebook, created a course in 20 days, and more.

Here's the TL;DR version.

Thread πŸ‘‡
Some quick takeaways from the interview:
- Get things done quickly by making Parkinson’s law work in your favor.
- Make the best use of your time by working like a lion (not a cow).
- Clinging too tightly to who you think you are closes doors.
On resisting what would eventually make her profitable:

β€œIt’s funny β€” I was really resistant to seeing myself as a content creator, even though it was clearly a big part of what I was doing and where I was finding success. Identity is so powerful.”

THREAD: Jesse Farmer founded his first business, a computer repair shop, while still in high school.

The year was 1998:
After graduating from high school in 2002, he studied Math at University of Chicago.

It was there he met his future co-founders.
Together they built Beehive, a book exchange app for University of Chicago college students.

The project was successful, being used by 2/3rd of the campus, but was never monetized or managed like a commercial project.

THREAD: Ranking on the second page of Google's search results may be worthwhile after this recent Google update.

Here's the Google update:
On October 14, Google announced that continuous scrolling will be coming to Search on mobile for US-English queries: blog.google/products/searc…

What is continuous scrolling?
When you reach the bottom of a set of search results on your phone, you won’t have to tap to go to the next page.

Instead, the next set of results will automatically load so you can continuously scroll down to see more information.

How will this impact SEO?

Thread πŸ‘‡
Every user is different, so don't show them all the same pricing options. When Github started recommending different plans to different users, they saw a crazy 61% increase in paid conversions.
After a user creates a free account, they are asked a few simple questions designed to ascertain the number of people who will be on the plan and the features that they'll want to use.

UPDATE: Facebook will count 1 person as 2 people on its platform. People != Accounts.

Here are more details:
Last week, Facebook said they will "change the way they count people".

One person will be counted as 2 people if they have separate Facebook and Instagram accounts.

UNLESS that person have explicitly linked their account in Facebook's "Accounts Center".
Previously, Facebook tried their best to count 1 person as 1 person.

"If someone used the same email address across their Facebook and Instagram accounts or accessed both platforms from the same device, we counted them as one person when they interacted with ads."
