All-Cause Excess Mortality - #California vs #Florida

While CA did worse in 2020, FL's recent wave took its toll.

Overall both states are basically on par.
FL back to normal now, while CA will be creeping up a bit, over next weeks....

TL;DR: #Covid19 Virus is gonna virus...
Detailed view of California.

US State Ranking.
My bad, last column was switch up!!! FL a bit higher of course...
Overall, though we can say, that there's likely no REAL difference...

This is already corrected for age, and based on latest CA/FL population estimates.

However, FL probl. had way more tourists, b/c of it's more "liberal" (!!) covid policies...
Also vaxx rates, are within 5%. So no real difference here...

New study from Sweden, (preprint) published in The Lancet, reveals that #Covid19 vaccines have a very short lasting effect!

- VE against infection drops below 50% CDC threshold at 5 months (6m for severe)
- VE against infection becomes negative at 8m

Covid19 Vaccinating Children 5-11?

1) So far less than ~120 children aged 5-11 died.
2) 32% of hospitalized children had no co-morbidities.
3) There are 28.4 Million children in the US in that age.

Putting 28M+ children at risk, to MAYBE safe 32%*120 = 38?

1 in 750,000!
Less than

✅Offering the vaccine to children with co-morbidities makes sense.

But approval, which leads to mandates?

❌Mandating 28.4M children to get vaccinated, with severe and unknown side effects?

In my opinion the @CDCgov mad a huge ERROR!
We know that about 0.5% or so, of children develop a severe fever > 40C (>104F).

This might even lead to brain damage!

A new study, published by @CDCgov, claims that all-cause mortality is lower among #Covid19 vaccinated.

This is a complete lie - good thing the authors delivered prove in their study!

cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/7…
After excluding Covid-19 deaths, they found that the standardized mortality rate was:
- Pfizer: 0.35
- Moderna: 0.34
- Unvaccinated: 1.11

How can this be? Excluding Covid19 these number should have been roughly equal!!
The real question is, why do the authors make all these "mental gymnastics" when simply calculating an all-cause standardized mortality rate by vaccinated vs unvaccinated groups would have been sufficient?
