#MECFS is a debilitating illness characterised by worsening of symptoms after minimal physical or mental exertion, cognitive impairment, prolonged fatigue and chronic pain.

60% are unable to work, 25% are housebound, severe cases are bedridden.

There is no cure.

#MECFS is little known among doctors.

Many patients are misdiagnosed with depression. Most patients are brushed off as having a psychosomatic illness. It often takes years to get a proper diagnosis. And many patients are still receiving improper and harmful treatments.

There is a lack of research on #MECFS.
