I am once again thinking of an AU where WWX (and let's say LXC, too!) are about 10-15 years older than LWJ.

Just a situation where WWX is visiting Cloud Recesses to hang with his pal LXC.

They watch four year old LWJ toddle over to them, and they're like "😭😭😭 Look how cute and chubby he is! What a sweet, innocent little baby!"

Meanwhile, LWJ is like, "Ah, yes. There they are. My Huan-ge, and my future husband. :)"

He casually tells LXC that he is going to marry WWX when he's grown up, and LXC and WWX get a good laugh out of that.

So cute! So precocious! It's very sweet that he thinks he should marry one of his brother's closest friends. What a good baby. :')

They think LWJ will grow out of his little "crush", and they'll get to tease him about it when he's grown up and married to someone else. :')

Narrator: LWJ did not grow out of his crush.

At age sixteen, LWJ still goes to greet them like, "Ah, yes. There they are. My xiongzhang and my future husband. :)"

I think LXC and WWX are both SUPER protective of him, even when he grows up and reaches the age where he's expected to go out into the field.

Because! Tiny little A-Zhan cannot go off to fight fierce corpses and subdue restless spirits!! He's only a baby! What if he gets hurt?!

And then the day comes when WWX gets captured or injured or something.

Tiny Helpless A-Zhan single-handedly carves a bloody path through half a dozen powerful dark creatures to rescue him.

(You abduct LWJ's future husband? You abduct LWJ's future husband like the evil yao?? Oh!! Sealing spell for dark spirits! Sealing spell for dark spirits for One Thousand Years!!)

Anyway, WWX watches LWJ wreck everybody's shit.

He realizes that Tiny Little A-Zhan got very grown up and strong and pretty when WWX wasn't looking.

He also realizes he has a heretofore-unknown kink for watching someone beat people up in order to rescue him.

WWX:

They walk back home, and have a very nerve-wracking (for WWX!) conversation.

WWX: B-but, of course, you understand that we can never...I mean, nothing could ever happen between us!

LWJ: Why not?

WWX, choking: B-because! I'm much too old for you!!

LWJ: Wei Ying is the same age as Xiongzhang.

WWX: Y-yes, exactly! Too old, you see??

LWJ: We are cultivators. We will remain young for decades, perhaps centuries. Why does ten or twelve years' difference in age matter?

WWX:

LWJ: I am an adult now, and a fully-trained cultivator.

WWX, gingerly stepping over a monster LWJ decapitated five minutes ago: ...Ahaha. Yes. It seems that you are.

LWJ: So, I am eligible for marriage.

WWX: B-but your family wouldn't agree to such a match! Not when I'm much older than you!

LWJ: Wei Ying is one of Xiongzhang's closest friends. He has been a guest at Cloud Recesses often. Why would my family withhold their consent?

WWX:

...Anyway. I just think LWJ has had a wedding scrapbook since he was five years old. He decided that they would get married as soon as he came of age and took up his responsibilities as a fully-trained cultivator. He's had his wedding robes all prepared for the last two years.

He is READY. So now he's just standing in front of WWX like

In case it's not already clear from (gestures expansively at my fics) have a real THING for LWJ going up to WWX like, "I picked out the decorations for our wedding and decided on a date. Now let's marry, because I am not getting any younger and I want at least three children. 😡"

And I have a real THING for WWX being like, "...Y-yes, dear. We will do just as you say. 😳"

And the idea of older!WWX going through this with younger!LWJ is just *chef's kiss* to me.
