The state is calling Dominick Black to the witness stand. #Rittenhouse trial
Dominick Black has taken the stand. He dated Rittenhouse’s sister.
He bought the gun #KyleRittenhouse the AR-15 used on August 25, 2020.
Rittenhouse was 17 and not legally allowed to own that gun. It stayed at Black’s dad’s house. #RittenhouseTrial
Black said he didn’t want to buy it since he was 17, and they agreed he wouldn’t possess it till he was 18. So it stayed at Black’s dad’s. The gun was legally registered to Black, paid for by Kyle Rittenhouse. #RittenhouseTrial
Black identified two guns, one as his, one as the one he purchased for #KyleRittenhouse
This profile picture used on #KyleRittenhouse’s shows him holding the gun Black bought for him, according to Black. Pic was taken on Black’s family property in Ladysmith, Wis.
They were there to shoot target practice. Rittenhouse didn’t keep the gun. Went back to Black’s dad’s
Black said that Rittenhouse didn't use the gun between that trip in May, and August 25, 2020.
He said the gun was kept in a safe in his stepdad's garage. Only stepedad had code. Stepdad took some guns inside during protests, including Rittenhouse's AR-15.
Black said the plan for Aug 25 was to protect Car Source locations. He, Rittenhouse, and another friend, Nick Smith, met up with others (who they didn't know) who were already there.
Rittenhouse and Black went together to one of the Car Source locations (59th st) #Rittenhouse
Black said he went on to the roof of the Car Source location because he didn't feel as safe on the ground.
Tells ADA Binger that he didn't have intentions on using his gun unless necessary.
Binger asked how he was going to protect the business from the roof.
Black said he could spot if people were throwing things. Said he wouldn't have shot them, but said when people see another with a gun, they tend to stay away.
Black said aside from himself, he only knew #Rittenhouse and Nick Smith. The others in this photo they met on site to protect Car Source. They didn’t know each other prior. #RittenhouseTrial
Black is asked by Richards -- who was telling Kyle Rittenhouse he should leave.
Court is back in session, but there is no media feed for video or audio. The judge ordered this witness would not be videoed or photographed. #RittenhouseTrial
Confirmation of my speculation from the AP Pool Reporter inside the courtroom -- The person on the stand right now is an FBI agent.
They are not allowed to be on video, photograph, or audio
Pool reporter will get us more info on the FBI agent shortly #RittenhouseTrial
From the AP Pool reporter:
The FBI Agent is Brandon Cramin. It's the state's second witness. He's showing infrared cam video from a plane that the state believes could show that Rittenhouse was following and chasing Rosenbaum, not the other way around. #RittenhouseTrial
POOL: The judge asked jurors to leave the courtroom as they continued to discuss the video taken by the FBI agent in the surveillance plane.
Defense lawyer Mark Richards said he believes there was other video taken by the FBI that's no longer available.
POOL CONT: Richards said he was incredulous that the FBI could take video that captured alleged homicides and then got rid of that video.
"That is preposterous," Richards added.
Koerri Elijah, a “self employed social media influencer” is now on the witness stand.
He was live streaming the protests in Kenosha in August 2020 #RittenhouseTrial
Back to the FBI Agent testimony: The judge balked when prosecutor Binger told him regarding footage from the plane that "the federal government is not under our control"
"I beg your pardon," the judge said, interrupting Binger.
Detective Martin Howard with the Kenosha Police Department is back on the stand.
He said that night, before #Rittenhouse turned himself in to the Antioch PD, there were photos on social media of him as the suspect, but didn't know him by name. #RittenhouseTrial
Howard: Said Rittenhouse had a half inch scratch on eyebrow, cut on lip, scratch near left collarbone, redness on belly button, 2 inch scratch on left forearm, redness on right forearm, right thumb, scratch on left side shoulder blade, two bumps on back of head #RittenhouseTrial
@SpectrumNews1WI The judge is playing his Jeopardy game (reading trivia questions from his tear-off calendar) with the jury while the state and the defense make their strikes.
Unfortunately, for this game, there is no Double Jeopardy in court...
