#SupremeCourt expresses disapproval in the manner which was adopted by NCDRC to breach orders of the top court directing disposal of cases relating to grievance of home buyers
Justice DY Chandrachud: The homebuyers had moved a plea before NCDRC in 2017. However the case was only adjourned and never decided. #SupremeCourt
DYC J: In an SLP filed before this court in 2020, this court in December 2020 had ordered the President NCDRC to hear the case and decide on merits and ensure expeditious disposal
SC: NCDRC president listed the matter in February 2021. There after a date of August 2021 was given. The petitioners wrote letters for fast disposal meanwhile. In August the matter was adjourned to July 2022
SC: Such kind of an order defeats the objective of Consumer protection act and more so the judge has breached the orders of this court which should have been followed with diligence. We express our disapproval. #SupremeCourt
SC: we thus direct NCDRC President to have this matter heard and decided by a bench within 3 months from today and submit a report of compliance with the registry of the #SupremeCourt
