Still, the piece undersells Israel's own role in Trump's disastrous JCPOA exit. Israel didn't just merely "applaud" Trump's decision. It endlessly pushed for it, with Netanyahu even taking credit for convincing Trump to do it.

If it was a strategic mistake for Israel, it was also a strategic mistake for the US.

So Israel pushed the US to commit an act that significantly undermined US national security.

There should be consequences for this. For starters, the media should repeatedly inform readers whenever Israeli officials are quoted that Israel partly brought about - by its own admission - the crisis we currently are in.

Moreover, DC groups who pushed for the exit should no longer get a pass. They're often quoted blaming the crisis on Biden, without the media raising their own role in creating this mess.

They are presented as innocent bystanders whereas, in reality, they are culprits.
