Absolutely the worst part of adulthood is when you have to do things like schedule a visit to the periodontist and then make yourself go. 😭

I prooooobably need a gum graft, and I have been putting off this consultation FOREVER because I don't wanna deal with it.

But I gotta go get the consultation done today, and I'm being a huge baby about it.

...Welp. I got myself all worked up for this appointment and was proud of myself for managing to show up at all!

And then the periodontist was SUPER late.

(She wasn't even in the office? She was out driving for some reason?? In the middle of the work day???)

And there were several other things about the office that struck me as deeply unprofessional. And I was uncomfy.

And I guess the good bit about being in a mid-thirties adult is that you stop staying in situations that make you uncomfy!

So I bounced, and declined to reschedule.

Now I have to start over with a new referral for a different periodontist, though, and I'm sulking!

...oh, okay, what the FUCK.

So I did not realize until I got to the practice that the referral I got from my insurance company was for the PREVIOUS OWNER, and it was recently sold to a new periodontist.

I JUST googled this woman and she has a disciplinary record a MILE LONG.

HER LICENSE WAS REVOKED FOR TEN YEARS, AND ONLY JUST REINSTATED.

ON A PROBATIONARY BASIS.

WTF.

THIS IS WHY WE TRUST OUR GUT, KIDS.
