How often do you check if your content is performing?

Some say, "We are able to see it impacts the keyword ranks."

Is that the only thing you should look at? 🤔

Here are a few KPIs you must set for your content,

[A thread]

#contentcreation #contentstrategy
1. Visibility of the content week over week

Check impressions for the targeted keywords in GSC
2. Average time people spend on your content on a monthly basis

Check Avg. Session Duration in Google Analytics.
3. Traffic it brings monthly

You can check that in Google Analytics
4. Conversions, in any form, check monthly

Be it newsletter sign-up, webinar registrations, MQLs or SQLs, keep checking monthly in Google Analytics
5. Percentage difference in the CTR for the keywords with the most search volume week over week, especially with the new content

Check GSC
6. Content achieving featured snippets - check week over week for its consistency

Check @semrush or any other tool you use to check if your keywords still own featured snippets
7. Pages they visit from the content week over week to check if they click the linked pages or the menu

For this, you need to have a CRO tool where you need to see the video recording of what people click after landing on your content page.
Most of these things should be checked week over week to make sure every penny spent on the content maximizes ROI.

What should your digital marketing strategy include?

December is all about preparing for the next year's digital marketing strategy and before it's too late, I thought to share this.

Most of the marketers miss out on many of the below.

A Thread...

#DigitalMarketing
1. Results achieved in this year vs previous year

- Number of MQLs generated, from which channels
- Number of SQLs converted, from which content
- Channel-specific traffic
- CTR
- Impressions
2. SMART goals you decided for this year

Example:

1. Reach 300K traffic by December 2022
2. Generate 3000 MQLs by December 2022

Do you still write "Conclusion," "Wrapping Up," "Final Thoughts," and more while writing the end of your blog?

Here is what you should put instead,

[A Thread]

#contentcreation
1. Give your readers an action item

For example: Go, get your featured snippets now!

2. Ask a question to your audience to invoke thinking-process

For example: Why should you migrate to cloud-native?
