Projects And Completions

We're going to discuss New Year's Resolutions today. I have one I'm going to share. Before I do, I have to confess my many NOT completed projects lingering around. They matter.
2) My amazing and gorgeous wife @KateScopelliti was laughing at me the other day. One of my clients asked me what's the most important book I've ever read. I ended up selecting 20. Kate took one look and said, Sun Tzu. You've never talked about any book more.
3) Having read something around 50 different translations, ever since first picking it up in 1987, no, there's no book I've ever studied more. So she's obviously right, as always. Why don't I know these things, myself?
4) So, back in 2019 I started - but failed to complete - a project of writing commentaries for each verse of Sun Tzu's great masterpiece. I called it: #SunTzuForMAGA. And, I created this Twitter page for it: @WarForAmerica21. Check it out!
5) One of the things I've learned in the past couple of years since is that I often fail to organize myself to the degree I require. I invest heavily into organizing things, but I'm naturally really bad at it. Most of all, I pretty much suck at basics like counting and spelling.
6) As a musician, I mask it well, but I struggle to carry a tune in a bucket and my timing sucks terribly. I can't, so far, hit a back beat to save my life. Cool though, old dog that I am, know how to learn such things and will one day rock my world. I will, back beat and all!
7) Okay, so here's some documentation for you to check out. You'll see how I messed up my verse count and attempted to correct it. And, you'll see how I, just this morning right now, guessed how many verses I commented on.
8) Wanna hear something else funny? I work with numbers and data all day, every day, and I'm a positively brilliant analyst. I simply suck at calculation. So, I've learned to ask every single client...did I do my math right? They seem to love that. Go figure...
9) So, again, assuming my math and guestimates are not too far off, there are 456 verses in John Minford's translation of Sun Tzu, and I completed something like 297 commentaries, applying Master Sun's lessons for the MAGA Movement, back in 2019. Damn near broke me.
10) For all my many weaknesses, I can brag of being a somewhat disciplined man. And nothing, not one thing I've ever done in my life, did I ever do 297 days in a row. Nothing. You have know how heartbroken I was when I collapsed in the project. Hurt like hell. Honest.
11) And what a project! #SunTzuForMAGA may be my favorite project I've ever attempted. Let me talk about that just a bit more. Our founding fathers deserve that we learn and apply Sun Tzu now. Who is we? We may be called Conservatives, certainly. We are Republicans.
12) But our Republican leadership abandoned and betrayed us almost countless decades ago. On SCOTUS, Scalia was a leader. We are originalists. But the best term for us is simply the one our true leader created: MAGA.
13) As I served the Trump Campaign in 2016, and in the following four years of his first term, my approach to Sun Tzu helped me read and understand Trump's accomplishments again and again. During the campaign, it was how I was able to offer my own form of guidance. It worked.
14) In the run up to the 2020 election, I believed that MAGA needed Sun Tzu, and attempted to give him to us. My greatest failure at the time, however, was to discount election fraud. I missed that boat utterly. I was a vote fraud denier. Alas.
15) As I've shared before, it wasn't until FOX called Arizona for Biden that I realized how wrong I was about denying vote fraud. Then, in the following weeks till 20 January 2021, I saw vote fraud reveal itself over and over again. Damn, how wrong I was.
16) Okay, enough on that story. At some point, I don't know when, I will of course complete the remaining - check my math with me now, please: 456 - 297 = 159. I will complete the 159 verses uncommented upon, for MAGA. Well...
17) Well, it's more than just write new commentaries. You can ask @KateScopelliti. We don't write things for just a moment in time, in order to be timely. When we hit our stride (more on that below), we write for the ages. That is our calling. And that means editing.
18) In writing our one published book so far, @KateScopelliti forced me into a type of editing process I could never have imagined before. And mind, I've been writing every day for more than 20 years, now. Kate is a genius musician. She edits for the rhythm.
19) Mostly, we had printed out copies of what we'd done so far, one for each of us, and we sat on the sofa and pen in hand read and edited, again and again and again. Other times, Kate sent me to my office making me read the work out loud for flow, smoothness, rhythm, and logic.
20) It was often at least humbling, if not humiliating, how illogical and out of sequence I can be. Shocking, really. Skipped steps, false conclusions, wrong paths, and just bad thinking and worse writing. Oh yeah, I wrote all the first draft copies of everything. Ouch.
21) Our little book, it's a quick read, instead of taking 3 months took a full 9 month gestation period, and we really did miss our window. We published too late for our market, and then, well, there were other obstacles too, to be discussed another time.
22) I will come back to our book, but let me apply these lessons back to my Sun Tzu work, and list out a few other unfinished projects, also. Most important, as should be obvious, is that I'm going to have edit, edit, edit my 297 commentaries. It's exhausting to contemplate.
23) Here are other ongoing, unfinished projects:

1) Supporting @shestokas for IL AG
2) Supporting @RealABundy for Idaho Governor
3) Commenting on a video Gen Flynn sent me
4) Commenting on our Declaration's 21 Ideas that Created our Nation
24) A word on the Declaration project. Oh my. I've purchased probably 15 books in researching it, some of which even my great teacher @shestokas had not yet read. Ha! Back and back it goes. Let me say a word about that.
25) Struggling as a I do with counting, 1776 was the tag end of the 18th Century. I don't know what that always confuses me so, but it does. Well, when you start reading about our Declaration you start hearing everyone talk about the 18th Century all the time.
26) Then you start hearing more about the 1760s and 1750s and earlier. You start learning about what our real life and governance as colonies was, and about how loyal to the crown and what good Englishmen we were, proud of our ancient freedoms.
27) Then you start hearing about earlier things, and boom, you're back in the 17th Century (the 1600s) and you have, at its end, the Glorious Revolution to deal with, and before that, in the 1640s the English Civil War, all of which leads up to our 1776 Declaration.

On The Masking Transformation – Part 2

You're at a modern, COVID-improved retail store with plastic separators everywhere. The employees are all well and good masked up. Have you noticed how muffled their voices are? Contemplate that.
2) Did you know that each employee has the right of free speech, even while working? Of course the company has the free right of firing the employee, and not even for cause. It's just a right. Free hire. Free fire. You're fired. You're hired. Like that. And like...I QUIT!, too.
3) Thing is, what you can't do is give an employee an illegal command and them fire them for not executing your illegal command. Put on your mask. This is NOT a legal command. It is illegal. If the employee is then fired for not doing so...LAW SUIT!

On The Masking Transformation

Masks indicate submission. But they generate power. Those wearing a mask have submitted. Then, they're empowered over those who don't. The Left has found its newest instrument.
2) Due to my work on the Declaration of Independence, I've been doing a huge amount of reading in 18th, and yes even 17th century history. In my readings so far, there is a single key theme that has clarified. Power vs Freedom.
3) Shoot all the way back to Magna Carta and you find the same theme. The King's power was too great, his use of it breaking the Ancient Rights of Free Englishmen. The Barons cowed the King. Think about that. Those Barons were our forefathers too.

I Lost A Debate This Morning

Wrongly, I accused @Sinnersaint39 of not liking me. This was a cop out, and a BAD move in a debate. It has nothing to do with like or dislike. I was simply wrong.
2) The truth is we just disagree, and she may well be right, I may well be wrong. To lay out the disagreement, here's my question. What does this image mean? Image
3) First, I say, this is MY OWN DAMNED RIGHT FIST. It's mine. I am right handed. If I'm going to fight with you, as in literally fight, it is that fist you will face. Okay. I'm a swordsman. There's a good chance it'll be my sword, not my fist. Or...

The Trick Is: You Don't Deserve The Opportunity

I wish I was better at research. There is a video clip, it has to be out there, and I want it but can't find it. It's from the phenomenal show Yellowstone. Rip is speaking to the boy.
2) None of us deserve the opportunities we're granted. They show up, unannounced and unearned. Then, we either show up or we don't. The only way to "earn" an opportunity is to show up for it after it arrives. You just have to show up. You still don't deserve it.
3) Why don't you deserve your opportunities? Because of all those who came before, who fought and bled and died for all you have available to you. I didn't fight in World War II, did you? What if Hitler hadn't been defeated? What about Hirohito, Mussolini? Did you defeat them?

The Beauty and Wonder of Worship

We're different, here in America. We do not follow the world's lead. We offer the world the leadership it needs.

@KateScopelliti
2) The image above is NOT a worldly image. It is not cynical. It is not sophisticated. There is a famous Democrat attack against fly-over country Republicans, as being smelly Walmart customers. I am a proud, smelly Walmart customer.
3) I know that Walmart itself, as a corporation, is compromised. I know it is a retail outlet for Made In China products. Slowly, I'm learning to look for such products and NOT buy them. But Walmart is bigger than its corporate bigwigs. It is part of true America.

The 21 Ideas That Formed America – Historical Interlude

This series has garnered some warm response, some quite inspiring. For instance, my friend @edmcnevin1 introduced me to St. George Tucker. Incredible!

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Georg…
2) I had never heard of Tucker before, so I've spent good parts of the past two days correcting that gap in my learning. It is what I've found in his work and life story that inspires today's meditation. I begin below with an extended quote...
3) "Whilst we were offering up vows at the shrine of Liberty, and sacrificing hecatombs upon her altars; whilst we swore irreconcilable hostility to her enemies, and hurled defiance in their faces;
