Every year more than 300,000 women die from #CervicalCancer, with 9⃣ in 🔟 of these deaths in the poorest countries.

Human Papillomavirus (#HPV) is the most common sexually transmitted infection and is the cause of almost all #CervicalCancer.

HPV vaccine is safe and prevents cervical cancer. WHO recommends 2⃣ doses for all girls aged 9-14 years. #VaccinesWork!

Through the #CervicalCancer elimination initiative, WHO is aiming for 90% girls globally 🌎🌍🌏 to be vaccinated against #HPV by 2030.
