⚠️ICU RECORDS—COVID minimizers claim that hospitalizations are “decoupled” from #Omicron cases. Not true➡️New Jersey, Maryland & DC have hit an all-time high hospitalizations, with Maryland & DC both at **all time record #COVID19 ICU high** too. Ergo, not “mild”

2) Moreover, US hospitalizations and ICUs are nearing record highs too. #Omicron is not “mild” if you factor in exponential growth and adjust for vaccines and reinfections.

3) How does it happen even #Omicron is less severe supposedly? Well it’s all in the nature of exponential math — when exponential math explodes the number of cases, hospitalizations will naturally surge behind it.

4) If there are two variants, one 50% more severe but not more contagious vs original, other variant is 50% more contagious but not more severe than original—Which variant will kill more people? The more contagious one by leaps and bounds, and even if 30% milder. That’s #Omicron.
