⚠️HOSPITALIZED **FOR** COVID—the majority (57%) of all recent #COVID19 hospital admissions in New York are admitted **for** COVID—not just ‘incidental’ COVID. Matches 🇬🇧 where 63% admitted for COVID. Thus➡️most #Omicron-wave 🏥 all-time COVID record-high admissions are damn real!
2) The NY stats matches closely 🇬🇧 numbers in England where 63% of recent hospitalizations are **for** #COVID19 as the **primary diagnosis**— not just incidentally ‘with’ COVID. That independent confirmation—better believe these stats! HT @IndependentSage
3) and it’s not just hospitalizations— ICUs are at or very near record highs from last winter (red) throughout the Northeast. 👇 we need to take #Omicron seriously!
4) So many others infected in the hospital incidentally also implies likely many are catching it in the hospital probably (aka nosocomial infections) — which is also a shameful too!
5) Another key indicator— deaths — follow the #COVID19 deaths as well, which still continue to climb, even in SA. US will likely see worse surge since Us hospitalization are coupled more tightly than in SA.
6) how to avoid #Omicron hospitalization? Get a booster!!! Data is clear.
7) New York hospitalization may get even worse than its record high so far… the forecast in next 14 days is worse… protect your family please! 🙏

🏥Vaccine/booster & #Omicron-wave hospitalizations in Miami shows high hospital admissions in unvaccinated— 📌~6x more than 2-shot vaccinated, & 📌~14x more than booster vaccinated. ➡️This also means #Booster shot gives >2x more protection vs 2-shots 👀

2) this matches the trend in NYC — unvaccinated hospitalizations soaring while vaccinated have much lower hospitalizations- albeit also increasing — but it’s not split by booster status in the NYC data.
3) And yes, the majority of hospitalization surge recently are for #COVID19, not just incidental infections. And even if they are incidental, hospital acquired ones are also really sad and shameful we don’t protect patients enough.

OMG—Train collides with a crashed plane just 2 seconds after @LAPDFoothill police pull the pilot from the wreckage earlier today. The bystander who recorded this was nearly hit by large flying debris. LAPD officer’s body cam further below👇—amazing heroism 🙏
2) here is the LAPD body cam of the harrowing rescue just before the train hit.
3) I’m am curious - why didn’t the train have time to be warned to slow down? The police seemed to have had time to put up yellow police barrier tape across the street. Maybe there wasn’t a direct line to the conductor? I’m asking as a kid who grew up near train tracks.

1. Ventilation & indoor air disinfection standards (key advantage—agnostic of politics/behaviors)

2. Boosters & reclassify “fully vaccinated” w/ booster.

3. N95 for all essential workers—free KN95 for public.

4. Free or $1 rapid tests.

6. We need vaccine passports (with boosters) preferably- for both indoor activities and large gatherings.

7. Domestic air travel requires vaccine or minimum negative test 24 hours before ✈️.

3) This is a good point — we didn’t solve the unhygienic water by just making the world boil water. We solved it by making the water cleaner in our pipes. Hence we need to make the air more hygienic in schools and workplaces with better indoor air infrastructure!

This is misinformation—Dr Henry (BC🇨🇦 health chief) believes infection on top of 2 shots gives “longer/stronger” protection—NOT TRUE vs boosters. She also callously forgets possible side effects of hospitalization, infecting others, & #LongCovid. #bcpoli
2) Dr Bonnie Henry also denies the critical nature of airborne transmission and denies N95 mask utility. She has been dangerous individual for a long time that threatens the welfare of not just BC residents but all of Canada that listens to her.
3) For those who don’t know just how dangerous Dr Bonnie Henry is— just listen to her dismissiveness against masks, against airborne spread, against school safety measures—and just horrible misinformation spreader as BC 🇨🇦 health chief.

📍UNVAXXED vs 2x SHOTS vs BOOSTED—recent hospital admission in Miami-Dade, Florida… ➡️highest in unvaccinated (green)—2 shots do work (yellow) but booster works even better (10x fewer). Note—data are counts, not rates. But it’s clear boosted folks have very low hospitalizations.
2) Switzerland also showing huge disparity in those vaccinated vs unvaccinated and #COVID19 death rates.
3) FLORIDA is not doing well. The surge in Florida will overload its hospitals soon
