Imho there has not been a more bullish period in the history of @THORChain network. This short thread explores what is going on under the hood of a sleeping giant and what it means for the current $RUNE hodlers
⚡️👇🚀
@THORChain is battle tested – as the old saying goes: what does not kill you makes you stronger. The core team not only came out of the summer 2021 stronger, but the team has grown, matured and introduced a number of practical anti-exploit & pro white-hat measures
🚀👇⚡️
@THORChain is still the only one secure L1 <> L1 DEX – that speaks volumes about the complexity of the problem it has set to solve. If this was simple a number of copy cats would pop out of nowhere. And it takes time to build strong foundations.
⚡️👇🚀
Now, that the foundations are strong, the speed of development is about to accelerate multifold with the adoption of real-assets stagenet the team can focus on the identical environment to chaosnet, rather than dealing with unpredictability and differences of testnet
⚡️👇🚀
The current pipeline blows my mind and we are about to witness:
1. An addition of $DOGE chain and introduction of $DOGE community to #DeFi – this #meme coin has a MC of ~20B MC and ranks #12 on @coingecko – currently synchronizing on the chaosnet
👇⚡️
2. An integration of @terra_money chain with both $LUNA (25B MC) and $UST (10B MC) into the @THORChain network. No comments here are necessary.
3. Aggregator support (gitlab.com/thorchain/thor…) – this is one of the most important and least understood features of @THORChain – in a nutshell it allows #DEXes to become aggregators and expand their offer to include L1 assets such as $BTC or $DOGE.
🚀👇⚡️
DEXes that support different chains and long tail assets will be able to create “paths” (in and out calls) into L1 assets and, further, into other long tail assets on the other side of the trade. I do not see any DEX that would not want to integrate with @THORChain
⚡️👇🚀
4. Synthetic assets are new financial primitives that pave the way to #ThorFi (hi-order financial features). They are fully-secured, fully-backed and can be sent anywhere in the @cosmos#IBC ecosystem and they will retain the guarantee they can be redeemed for the underlying
👇⚡️
5. ThorFi, POL and ThorSavings – as usually, @THORChain starts with first principles and challenges the status quo to redefine what a lending protocol can look like. Expect self-paying loans and other financial features, unseen on other networks with no liquidation risk
⚡️👇🚀
As usually with @THORChain there is more. The community has grown and matured, there are new faces among the old faces. I would like to take a moment to thank you all for your incredible contributions and support during the construction of this incredible piece of #DeFi infra 🙏

Smart contracts extend the capabilities of the @THORChain by deploying custom logic that can be formulated using @THORChain financial primitives.
Let's have a look at some of them:
👇
@THORChain has four types of key, financial primitives:
1. $RUNE 2. Synthetics – secured and derived from LP collateral 3. LP units – your “share” of ownership of a pool 4. THOR.USD – arguably the most important composite
On top of that TC is a price oracle and gas oracle.
I am sure a lot of you are familiar with $OHM that currently yields > 7,000% APY. Admittedly, initially I was reluctant to jump into $OHM, as things that look too good to be truth, well, they usually are. But $OHM is built different, it is brilliant design.
👇
Now, there is another kid on the block - wonderland.money - that is a fork of @OlympusDAO and it is the first decentralized reserve currency protocol available on the Avalanche Network based on the $TIME token.
I received a few DMs with questions about the key differences between @Thorchain synths vs @synthetix_io vs or @mirror_protocol. While I am not an expert on the subject, I would like to point out ONE key difference that is obvious to my naked eye:
One of the most overlooked aspects of @THORChain is that it will become the biggest IDO launchpad of our generation. This thread will unfold how and why
🚀🚀⚡️⚡️
👇👇
What are Initial Dex Offerings (or IDO) launchpads? In a nutshell, those are platforms that allow projects to raise capital, build communities and filter out a noise. The recent Delphi Digital article has a nice summary: delphidigital.io/reports/an-ove…
👇👇
What are a good characteristics of a well-designed launchpad? Let's examine that together:
How long can a short tail get and can @thorchain_org benefit from economically less significant assets.
Let me break it down for you
👇👇👇
Short tail, in the context of @thorchain_org, means assets that are most economically active (deep pools, lots of large transactions). Because all the assets are actively managed, only the deep pools with lots of activities create significant revenue potential.
👇👇
But what does “active management” of assets actually mean? Every swap demands resources and liquidity and neither is infinite. Every asset, once it is in the system, no matter how small and insignificant it is, becomes @thorchain_org's problem to manage, move, account for etc
👇
- Incentive pendulum – the proportions of capital bonded in the network by the nodes to the capital pooled (historically over-bonded)
- Change in asset price – changes the yield and triggers the arb bots
- Block rewards – when a block is produced the active pool receives a reward
