Hoeg also worked with a member of antivax group Rational Ground to produce that awful VAER study that massively exaggerated myocarditis and has caused untold trouble, so why is Ladhani referring to her?
Schools in my area, as usual it takes a week or two after a break for cases to build, unprotected primaries hit first.
Secondaries with several members off on average, none able to return after 5 days, some taking longer than 10 days
End of this week staff cases now picking up, struggling to staff lessons on Monday, primaries hitting the wall and closing year groups, means secondaries lose more staff to care for younger children
What about students?
One schools sixth form almost entirely wiped out in a week, moved to remote learning
3-8 students off with covid on all my registers this week, many students aren't recovering quickly so missing more time off school, struggling when they return
Real Btech exams a total mess with lots missing these formal exams which go towards their grades, extra retakes or TAGS to come
How does this help student wellbeing?
Long covid is really damaging learning, have some long haulers from last year but seeing more developing Long covid since September, attendance rates for students who used to be in every day has substantially dropped, when in they struggle to make it through the day
And then homework is very difficult for them, particularly GCSE and A level students who are expected to do a couple of hours a night
They have no energy for social lives, even a bit of online gaming, so sense of missing out and also that they have no idea when this will end
Is also further impacting their wellbeing. I know this is really inconvenient for adults who think schools just need to get back to normal, try putting yourself in the shoes of kids who are wondering if they personally will ever get back to being normal
Think of their concern for their education, their concerns for how they are going to catch up in time for exams
This is so much more damaging than masks and air filters
Sames happening with staff consistency is key to education, and with high levels of transmission we just can't provide the consistency children deserve
I guess this is the price of freedom, if it was really about the kids they'd be asking what are they willing to sacrifice to get transmission rates down to protect education
One declares pandemic over
Other says herd immunity is constant reinfection throughout society to protect the vulnerable
How is constant reinfection immunity?
How does the virus know to avoid the vulnerable?
2/ Right let's take a look at Guptas article
Covid "has stubbornly resisted all attempts at eradication"
NO!
Many governments at Guptas urging have resisted attempting eradication
And its not endemic
3/ The GBD crowd have literally done all they can to undermine any attempt at suppression, even going as far as to team up with antivaxxers, supporting them to pump out disinformation
"Johnson came out fighting"
Once again mistaking confidence for competence
This is politics not performance art
Fact check his statements, analyse his policies #r4today coverage is superficial
#r4today spent time discussing the benefits to nightclubs on scrapping covid passes but doesn't think removing masks in schools is worth looking at?
They evaluate yesterday through lens of party political games and Johnsons career rather than impact on real lives
Should be asking "Has Johnson put internal party politics ahead of public health? Does appeasing the CRG take priority over protecting the vulnerable in society?"
Bloody hell, Rosindell was asked what Johnsons priorities should be
Cutting taxes is always a good thing
Benefits of Brexit
And
War on woke
"Our country is under attack"
"We need to love our flag and national anthem, when will LBC show its patriotism like GB news"
"Fighting back against woke is a priority for most the people"
"Labour hate our country, hate our culture"
"We need to prioritise teaching British history properly,at the moment schools are teaching children to hate our country, children should be made to sing the national anthem"
