1/ $ATOM has become the central talking point again as the top performer in the last 24 hours among the top 100 by a strong margin.

But what are $ATOM buyers so excited about and what does the #Cosmos hold for us in 2022?
Let’s look at some incoming catalysts 👇

2/ Gravity Bridge

Gravity Bridge is a neutral bridge between the #Cosmos and $ETH. This allows bridging of Cosmos assets to $ETH as ERC-20 tokens and ERC-20 tokens into the Cosmos eco, such as $USDC, $DAI and of course $ETH.

This unlocks $ETH liquidity into the Cosmos eco and

3/ perhaps of equal importance, could bring a greater variety of stablecoins into the Cosmos.

Rn, the only stablecoin available is $UST, so a larger variety would increase the options available for swaps into stables and also creates the option for stablecoin LP farming 🧑🏻‍🌾

4/ IBC Connections
#IBC is a method of transferring tokens between blockchains seamlessly.

Essentially, it’s bridging but within your own wallet (@Keplrwallet is a good one for those looking to try).

If you’ve never tried it, please do. It’s honestly so fricking cool.

5/ For now, IBC is only used within Cosmos chains, with the main contributors to IBC volume being @osmosiszone.

However, many other appchains in the Cosmos are onboarding IBC and monthly IBC transfers are literally uponly.

6/ But as we speak, devs are building more connectors to into Cosmos. Among these are:

-@datachain_en : $ONE (wen $JEWEL kek)
-@informalinc /@ComposableFin /@oct_network : $DOT / $KUSAMA
-@ChorusOne : $CELO

7/ Not just bridges are being built tho, but our friends at @EvmosOrg are also building an actual #EVM for Cosmos!

In fact, they launched an NFT on their Evmos Testnet recently, Evmosians, which has been fully claimed (hehe I got one too)

4/ Liquid Staking

Liquid staking is a feature to be rolled out together with the much anticipated #thetaupgrade for Cosmos (expected to roll out in Q1’22).

Liquid staking gives users a liquid, tradeable token in a representation of their bonded $ATOM tokens.

5/ This gives users more flexibility with their $ATOM tokens as they can earn rewards on the token they receive in return (likely $stATOM) while staking to keep the network safe.

This will be executed by the king of liquid staking, @LidoFinance , known for $stETH and $stLUNA.

6/ More than that, the Theta Upgrade will include more features including:

-Better governance modules
-Cross-Chain Accounts

7/ There’s plenty to look forward to this year, and we haven’t even begun to think about their Rho, Lambda and Epsilon upgrades that are planned for Q2, 3 and 4 respectively.
