Kids with disabilities have had their funding at risk and cut at forever with little acknowledgment in the news or social media because society has yet to recognize these kids as investments.

I get it. Supports aren't cheap. Not in the short term. So ice our kids out. Cut their funds. Make it impossible to understand this system. Make advocating isolating and scary.
Make it parents against teachers and admin and vice versa.

Make parents have to wear a million hates and quit their jobs just to get their kids through school. Because it's not numbers that will show up on any of your budgets.
However by pushing the kids out. By making public school so impossible for our kids to attend. By just going after their needs all the damn time you push them out. Home school or Private are their only options. Off your plate and onto anothers.
Cannot afford private... thats ok they will send you 800 to homeschool so much cheaper to put all that on you. No SLP, OT or EA's so huge savings. Looks great on the ol Education budget. Look at all we saved.
But I'm going to be so clear. That savings is temporary. Those families and kids you're trying to silence are not unaware. Ableism is wrong and you will face the repercussions eventually. You won't be able to say you didn't know.
Those in awe of their savings, often the ones so sure that the conservatives are saving for the future kids. These ones grow up too. And those who could have done so much more if they'd only been supported. They now cost more in adulthood. Funny how that works.
This government doesn't know a good investment when they see it. Children are worth the investment. Equitable education is the only way. @AdrianaLaGrange You have failed these kids but you weren't the first you will however be the last. #abed #education #Ableism
