Sri Avinash.T, Joint Secretary, Karnataka Govt. MEDI Employees Welfare Association notified employees of medical & superspeciality institutions, dept.of medical education not being covered under any cashless health scheme like Karnataka Arogya Sanjeevani.
While the Hon'ble High Court ordered the state government to consider these employees' requests, it is disheartening to note that they do not fall under the category of state employees.
Even the committee constituted by the Director of Medical Education recommended the government to extend the cashless health scheme benefits to the employees of the above mentioned institutions.
These employees dedicated their heart and soul during the pandemic.

I promised to bring this issue up during the question hour in the upcoming legislative session and demand an answer from the government.
Recent reports indicate that elderly people are being evicted from their homes in alarming numbers. A couple in their 80s seeking assistance visited Jayanagar MLA's office recently.
Many elder people don't report it because of fear of retaliation. Aside from that, they don't want to complain about their children or cast the family in a bad light.
Despite this, many are unaware of a laws that protects senior citizens from abuse and neglect

Even today, most depositors of these banks continue to struggle to recover their hard-earned funds, leading to financial distress for the past 2 years.
Nearly 100 people have lost their lives. Many of their family members, as well as depositors, have been meeting me on several occasion.
In the past, I had taken up this issue on a war footing so that senior citizens and co-depositors can live in peace.
I urge the health minister @mla_sudhakar to have an elaborated discussion in the assembly session before proposing any amendment to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences Act 1994.
