1. Hijab is to distinguish free Muslim women from slave women. Slave women were prohibited from wearing the hijab.

Hijab is entirely about "ownership" of women and sexual control. That today's "feminists" have legitimized this shows how badly they have been compromised by parroting Islamist propaganda. Arab feminists of a generation ago, lke Naẓīra Zayn Al-dīn (1908–1976) did much better.

Control of women is central to Islam. As women's rights spread, Islamists in the Middle East were terrified of these spreading to Arab lands. Huge amounts of funds were channelled into Western academia to parrot the Islamist narrative. Islamophobia was marketed as a term. Ergo.

Hijab culture is about the commodification of women's sexuality. In Islam "a woman’s sexuality is a commodity subject to sale and purchase. The “theft” of that sexuality through rape, for example, is punished like other property crimes..."

Thus Hijab is not "cultural dress." It is a doctrine of women's modesty, which marks non-Hijabi women as "loose" and "immodest." This legitimized predatory behavior by Muslim men, as narrated by victims in #Rotterham. It marks a danger for all women.

Hijab comes from a doctrine of discrimination between the veiled (protected property) vs the unveiled ("open meat" or slave girls.)

Yes, Yellow badges were first started by Muslim rulers to mark out dhimmi minorities—Jews and Christians.

These were then copied by the medieval Church, notably Pope Innocent III, to mark out Jews. Hitler was following precedence, he didn't invent it.
