#Russia shouldn't invade #Ukraine, of course. But I'll never understand why Russia invading a country it borders or China invading Taiwan, which it practically borders, is wrong but US invading Iraq, Afghanistan, Vietnam, Korea, or so many other countries isn't far worse.
Invading countries is bad. But somehow it seems more bad to invade countries that aren't even remotely within your sphere of influence. Criticize Russia for massing troops on Ukrainian border, yes. But shouldn't we then also criticize US for massing troops all around the globe?
If Russian troops massed on Ukrainian border are viewed as a threat then, by that logic, how would we expect North Korea to view troops from US — a country on the other side of the world from it — massing its troops on their border, as they've been doing for decades?
While Russia keeps its troops within its own borders, for now, and have them massed against a neighbor, the US sails its warships through the seas of countries all around the world — yet that is permitted, but a country muscling around in its own backyard is not?
It's the sheer hypocrisy of the whole thing that boggles my mind. Russia is no saint, and invasion of Ukraine would be truly deplorable and worthy of condemnation, but to watch the US criticize conflict between bordering countries when it interferes all over the world is stupid.
I mean, @SecBlinken, you supported US invading Iraq, toppling its govt, occupying it for years, & leaving it in ruins. That's a country on the other side of the world with zero connection to ours. Why should I take your criticism of Russian aggression towards Ukraine seriously?
I would love to see Ukraine remain independent & unharassed by Russia, but the two countries are culturally, linguistically, & religiously extremely close — not to mention historically, repeatedly, part of the same territorial unit.
But what do Iraq, Afghanistan, Vietnam, Korea have to do with US? We don't border each other. We're culturally, linguistically, & religiously totally different. We have nothing in common. So why is US aggression towards them given a pass but Russia's localized aggression isn't?
Could this be part of the reason US posturing towards Russia makes little difference? Why would one expect Russia to pay any attention to the rebukes of a nation that topples governments all over the world, often leaving those countries in ruins & worse off than ever?

From 6 January (Pacific Standard Time), I will observe a seven day hunger-strike for the persecuted Christians of #India. The Indian Christian is facing extermination by the ruling #RSS-#BJP. In their honor, I will not eat for a week. "Do not fear what you are about to suffer."
The RSS-BJP is the power controlling India today. They seek, ideologically, the extermination of both Muslims & Christians. Their hatred must be exposed. For the next week, I will focus my attention on their attempts to marginalize, attack, & eliminate the Christians of India.
To that end, I will consume nothing but water (including lemon, tea, and coffee) as I attempt to shine a light on the reality of the hatred facing Indian Christians today. For one week, I will dedicate myself to their cause.

About India’s “anti-conversion” laws:

Jesus Christ commanded Christians, as the fundamental practice of faith in Him, to feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, befriend strangers, clothe the naked, care for the sick, & visit those in prison.
His final command before ascending to Heaven was to go throughout the whole earth to teach people about this message of loving Him by loving one another. He said that people would know that we follow Him because of this display of love.
This is the foundational teaching of the Christian Church. When #RSS-#BJP sponsored legislation bans conversion based off “inducement” or “allurement,” it essentially criminalizes the practice of the Christian Faith.

@ArchbishopFoley, as a communicant of @The_ACNA, I beg you in the name of Jesus to withdraw from this abominable legitimization of #Modi, a Prime Minister named by @persecutionnews as one of the top persecutors of Christians in the world today.
Unless your purpose for participating is to boldly, clearly, and unconditionally call #Modi to repentance, then how will your presence there serve as anything other than a whitewashing of a PM whose government is doing everything it can to criminalize Christianity in India?
@ArchbishopFoley, perhaps you, like much of the American Church, are unaware of the skyrocketing, nationwide attacks on Indian Christians by radical Hindu nationalists linked to #Modi’s political party, #BJP, and its mother organization, the #RSS paramilitary.

There is 0 evidence that any forced conversion has ever taken place in the independent Republic of India – except, occasionally, of religious minorities to Hinduism – & masses of evidence that both Christian & Muslim leaders in modern India seek only sincere, genuine conversion.
“Conversion,” within the orthodox & prevailing understandings of both Christians & Muslims, means a change of heart & mind within the person converting. It is not an act done to them but an act which they do. It may be taught, but only in the hope that the teaching is accepted.
“Conversion” is done by the individual, of their own free & genuine will.

A “conversion ceremony” is performed by the religious authorities of whatever religion.

But no one, within orthodox Christianity or Islam today, is “converted” – rather, THEY choose to convert.

@mrubin1971, acting with academic disingenuity, attempts to prove that Pakistan's ISI is running a global campaign to promote vaccine hesitancy by using a SINGLE example: that I protested a donation to Sewa International, an affiliate of India's #RSS paramilitary.
@mrubin1971, whatever his questionable motives may be, certainly must possess the basic knowledge that proving a broad claim requires referencing more than a single data point.
Thus, for instance, I can authoritatively claim that Christians in India face extreme and growing persecution because there are countless examples of speeches by Hindu nationalists, laws passed, and an actual pattern of attacks to point to as evidence proving the thesis.

#RSS4Punjab means disaster, violence, & eradication of the unique call to liberty & equality of the Sikh faith whose holiest shrine, Harmandir Sahib, stands in Amritsar, Punjab. The highest earthly body of the Sikhs, the Akal Takht, stands openly & boldly against the #RSS.
In October 2019, reacting to RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s statement that India is a Hindu nation, Akal Takht Jathedar (leader) Harpreet Singh called for a ban on the organization, explaining, “What the RSS is doing will create divisions in the country.”
Within the Sikh community, the Sangh has been sowing division since its inception. Its chief tactic is to deny the existence of Sikhi as a separate religion. Despite outcry from the Panth, the Sangh insists Sikhs are nothing more than another variety of Hindu.
