Nothing emerges out of thin air, everything has a history behind it. One characteristic of the West (borrowed from the Church) is that they steal and assimilate ideas, then pass off as their own. This is true in all fields of endeavor, the sciences, math, and civil structures.

It is unfathomable for the @dhume that White people didn't invent everything; this is why there is so much resistance to acknowledge Indian contributions.

Even the West acknowledges it only after it has largely eliminated the culture it has stolen from.

As CK Raju shows, the myth-making of the "Greek" origin of Science, Math and Philosophy was started by the Church in the 11th c. This was to find their own antiquity and was closely tied to myth-making about White supremacy with little primary evidence.

After the genocide of Native Americans the US Congress passes a resolution acknowledging the origins of their democracy

"The confederation of the original 13 colonies into one republic was influenced by the political system developed by the Iroquois Confederacy."

Here is a link to the US Congress resolution acknowledging the native origins and influences on their own democracy (which later influenced European democracy). Indigenous Native American democracy was not dissimilar to Indian jana padas.

There was no real democracy in Europe. US democracy influenced European democracy. Thus it goes
Indigenous->US->Europe. But what does the myth-making tell you? "White people bring civilization (and democracy) to savages."

This is the chart of how democracy is claimed to have spread to Europe with the US as the "first." Why was US the first? Because they learned from the indigenous; Europe didn't have any indigenous traditions left to learn from.

And what does that font of wisdom, Wikipedia, tell us in the history of democracy.
