Theme 1): ‘I get my own legal code’.
Lots of people making announcements on what is and isn’t “protected speech” without taking a few minutes to do a quick search on what the law actually is. All kinds of pronouncements about “that isn’t protected” are just wrong.

2) ‘We should just reinstate the Fairness Doctrine.’
Never occurs to these people that the FD was proclaimed in the 1950s, when there was no cable or satellite TV, a country of three to seven television channels. There’s a real good chance the Supremes would squash this.

The Supremes have consistently held that forced speech is a violation of free speech. Highly unlikely you can require an announcement that says in effect ‘This show is bullshit’ past the Supreme Court.

Not only will the Supremes uphold a ‘This show is bullshit’ announcement before every Fox broadcast, they will also uphold it being applied only to Fox. #CNN, #MSNBC, etc. all get a pass on the public humiliation ritual. 🤣🤣

Yes, imagine the CURRENT Supreme Court deciding what people are allowed to say, and what they can’t say. That will obviously work out marvelously.

But they’ll be able to require those who want to watch Fox to pay for #CNN etc. The Supremes would have trouble ruling this unconstitutional, they’d be laughing so hard.

What these things all have in common is a complete disconnect from the Constitution, specifically that pesky First Amendment. It would probably have to be repealed before any of these “solutions” could go into effect.
